I had to chase up 2 hours before check in which i didnt need, girl on phone seemed very stressed. I was very stressed i might not have access. ...

Hotel booked and paid few weeks before visit to make sure we have place to stay for New Years Eve. Few minutes before arrival reception desk told us they do not have our reservation and they are fully booked. Expedia help desk managed to find alternative accommodation.
