Gorgeous Downtown Townhome - Walk to Beach

  • Welcome to the Adelaide Retreat, a bright and comfortable 2-bedroom, 1-bath retreat in the heart of Old Orchard Beach. Tucked into a quiet neighborhood with a classic all-American beach-town feel, this newly refreshed space is the perfect home base for your OOB getaway.

    You’ll be just minutes from the beach, pier, restaurants, shops, and local attractions—close enough to enjoy all the energy of town, while still having a calm place to come back to and unwind.
    Please no pets on the furniture. Do not leave any perishables out at the end of your stay. No smoking on the property. Please observe quiet hours from 10pm until 7am.

    Guests with Children: While children are welcome in our home, please note that the property has not been childproofed. It may not be suitable for very young children or those requiring a child-safe environment. We ask parents to supervise their children closely and accept responsibility for their safety and wellbeing during their stay.

    Late check out is not offered at this listing. Early check in is possible based on our reservation calendar and if we have guests leaving that morning.

Property was full of ants, the outside stairs and deck was rotting to a point my friend hurt her ankle as the wood drooped down, the 2nd bedroom is through the main room and that with no proper curtains left minimum privacy, the bedding in the 2nd room smelt like perfume, there were sticky marks on the flooring like a drink had been spilt and not cleaned up, there were amenities listed that weren’t there, lights with no bulbs, the upstairs had no air circulation making it unbearable to sleep as well as no curtains waking us up at 6am as the sun shone through, we would come back to the entire property smelling like cigarette smoke from the people below us. Would not stay again, definitely not worth the price and pictures were very misleading.

While the location and the apartment being pet friendly was a plus, everything else was, at best, a surprise. Our main issue with this location is that it is listed as a two bedroom, but it’s not disclosed that the second bedroom is only accessed through the first bedroom. Imagine a large primary bedroom with a giant walk-in closet, but that giant closet has now been converted into a second bedroom. Additionally, the bathroom downstairs was difficult to maneuver and the water pressure and temperature were unpredictable.The other issue was the lack of supplies at the location. We weren’t informed that we would need to bring our own toilet paper, for example. This isn’t a big issue, but it would’ve been nice to know prior to running out. Additionally, there are no cleaning supplies, plunger, mop, vacuum, etc. available so even if we did want to pick up after ourselves, we did not have the opportunity. There was no washer and dryer so if you went swimming, you would have to let it dry outside on the railing because there was no other option. Additionally, there were no beach towels, chairs, or anything a beach house might provide. There was no outside hose to rinse off after the beach… There was no wine opener or cutting board. Just missing a lot of basic essentials from an Airbnb in my opinion. While I wouldn’t stay here again because of the sleeping arrangement, I think if the property owner made some improvements, it would be a good stay for a small family.
