Excellent location in Beppu downtown. The hotel facilities were great but a bit in an old condition.

Traditional hotel, updates needed, overpriced
Traditional Japanese style hotel but tired and in need of a refurb if it is going to take advantage of the influx of guests for the Rugby World Cup and Olympics. The onsen was pleasant but plasticky changing areas. There might have been some breakfast available but we weren’t offered it, very limited language skills at front desk meant that unless an interpreter was present it was difficult to communicate. We were not expecting the Yen1000 spa tax on check out.

Has a traditional Japanese decor which is quite unique and very cool experience. The included meals are very good although be prepared to have a lot of dishes though.

This property has the best room we had on our trip to Japan. Our room was a Japanese style suite, with a living room, bedroom, toilet/shower hallway and an entry way, all separable by siding doors. The spa upstairs was also wonderful with several onsen, including one outdoors. The breakfast was delicious, served to us on the second floor in a shared space with fish, pickled vegetables, miso soup and more. Would definitely recommend.

Great place to stay. It's a little old and carpets are dingy but the onsen was easy to access and the rooms were big. Our family of five stayed in one room relatively comfortably.

Beautiful rooms, friendly staff...you sleep on nice traditional Japanese floormats. They have a simple, but very nice rooftop onsen with an outdoor pool looking out over the city!
