Refreshingly professional service. Wonderful furnishing of the hotel. The host bent over backwards to do anything that he could to help make the visit more comfortable. Outstanding breakfast. In the old town very close to great restaurants and the lake.

Great location in old town. Recommend it!

They did not have my registration on arrival. However, I was the only person on the hotel, so that was not a problem. It has a home atmosphere and feeling. Great service. Room a bit small but fine. Main heating system did not work so an electric heater was provided. Shower leaked water all over the floor. Hot breakfast was offered to order, but I was the only one in the hotel so I do not know if this normal. The location is great!

Great stay with excellent service! I had a single room during the off season that included breakfast which was delicious and generous. The young man working at the front desk of this villa was attentive to detail and very pleasant. I travel often and would highly recommend Villa St. Sofija for its location and wonderful staff! Bravo!

Property was ok but the staff was unprofessional. Moved my stuff to another room without my permission and without informing me. Meanwhile I still had the key to access that same room where other guests now had all their stuff. Hotel staff was never at the reception and when I told them my stuff was gone and other people now had their stuff in my room they told me that I did not answer the phone. (As if it’s my fault). Unacceptable.

Great value with lake views

I showed up early but they came and let me in anyway. Very comfortable but small apartment. Nice balcony looking out on Lake Ohrid. Plenty of bars and restaurants around.Town centre is 5 minutes walk. The lake is beautiful at sunset.

Great location, unfortunate circumstances

The location was great. Unfortunately, despite the fact I booked 2 rooms, the hotel only had one available. We had no choice but to squeeze an extra cot into our room to consolidate the 2 rooms into one. The hotel was very apologetic; the staff was very nice and offered us a free drink, but that didn’t change the fact we were all uncomfortable having to share a room, particularly because one person was battling the stomach flu and there was only one bathroom.

We have stayed here twice. It is a great base for exploring Ohrid and the staff were friendly and helpful. There is no lift so this might not be an appropriate place for anyone who finds stairs difficult but staff can help with carrying bags upstairs. We were not bothered by any noise when staying here (May 2019) or at our earlier visit (May 2014). We would stay again.

Right in the heart of old town and close to the promenade, this pretty hotel was quiet in the off season but looks like a popular spot for summer guests. We had a nice bowl of fruit welcoming us when we arrived in the room. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We did initially get billed by both Expedia and the hotel but that was resolved within 2 weeks.

Great time in Lake Ohrid

Our hosts were extremely nice, helping us park, find our way around town, and cooking breakfast in the morning. They also arranged us a driver for a tour around Lake Ohrid, at a very reasonable price. The town itself was the highlight of our Macedonia trip, exceedingly pretty in the old section, then very manageable over towards the dock area and shopping. The villa was nice, with the choice of breakfast inside or out, with the patio area also available for drinks. Would definitely go back to Ohrid and would go back to this villa again. Just a few steps from the Jazz Inn, a nice bar. The old town is very narrow and full of pedestrians, so harrowing to drive in if you're in a rental. Once we parked the car, all was well.

Lovely, friendly place

Nice location. Near enough to main square and port, but far enough away to avoid all the crowds. Lovely staff who couldn’t do enough for you. 5 min walk to Potpes beach for sunbathing. Only minor negative was very leaky shower and external early morning noise from various hotel kitchens if you had windows open. Excellent double glazing tho’ helped that, but then needed to keep the a/c on. However, please don’t let that put you off this cracking small and friendly hotel.
