The location of the hotel was excellent, based within the small town with close proximity to all the local attractions. Staff were attentive and spoke perfect English. The bedroom was spacious, clean well provided and enjoyed excellent views towards the sea

This is a small hotel with small rooms but they have everything you need. The staff was very friendly and they had complimentary cake and port to try before dinner. Close to lots of restaurants and the beach is walkable.

Absolutely First-Class!

We were very happy with every aspect of our stay, including our room upgrade. Guarda Rios is a spotless, extremely comfortable place with a superb staff. Kudos Maria, the manager, for her friendly, helpful efficiency. Great breakfasts too!

This is a great hotel. We stayed for two nights and got to relax and mill about the town for our first part of our trip in Portugal. The staff is lovely and will give suggestions on where to go and where to eat. You can walk everyplace in the town and to the beaches from the hotel but it is very quiet and you will get a good night sleep. There is no parking, but there is a free lot right behind the hotel that is easy. The town is very nice and lots of great restaurants and shops.

What a wonderful small hotel! Although it is small in terms of the number of rooms, the room itself was a very nice size and the balcony was a real sized balcony. The hotel is immaculate! The bed was comfortable, the staff was extremely attentive to us, and we loved the breakfast . (Try both the tomato jelly and the pumpkin jelly. Excellent). The hotel is right in the middle of the town, which is totally charming, so everything is convenient to walk to. I would highly, highly recommend this hotel!

I’m sorry that we only had 1 night at Guarda Rios. The area is peaceful, we walked the beaches, enjoyed meals in town and relaxed at our B&B. I sincerely hope we can return.

Amazing place to stay

Amazing, what can i say! This is a true home from home. Spotlessly clean, extremely well appointed and the staff were absolutely amazing and so friendly. The food was lovely, including the home made cake which is available 24/7. There was also a selection of local drinks to try as well. Just the best place to stay, and 50 meters from one of the best restaurants in the region.
