  • The Original Marshmellow! Spacious Ocracoke beach house in the quiet Jackson Dunes neighborhood. Marsh views, large front deck, and two screened porches. House was one of the most popular rentals for over 25 years, now selectively rented through VRBO only. Reverse floor plan with large open space on the top floor. Stainless kitchen appliances, gas stove, and the best stocked kitchen you'll find. 65" TV in living room, with smart TVs in all bedrooms as well. Starlink satellite internet for fast, problem-free downloads, streaming, and browsing. Owner converted one bedroom into a well-equipped home gym, featuring plenty of weights, bands, bars, bells, and benches. House also features a 4-person golf cart, provided sheets and towels, Webber grill, Hatteras hammock, outdoor shower, bicycles, helmets, and spacious flat backyard. New driveway, walk-in shower, porch screens. Fish cleaning bench, rods, coolers, and chairs for your beach trips. Property is being conservatively and selectively rented for six people max, no smoking. Three day minimum. Keypad combination provided upon reservation. Thanks!

We had such a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend at the cottage. Great location and had all the amenities we needed. Definitely would highly recommend if you are looking for a wonderful cottage to stay at while visiting Ocracoke.

Perfect home for our family weekend! Clean, comfortable, and felt welcoming. The golf cart was a great added perk, and Derek was a wonderful, responsive host. We loved our time here and would definitely stay again.

The property was very clean and was very pet friendly. The an available golf cart was very convenient and not offered at all rentals. Very close to the beach access points and the grocery store. The host was very accommodating and friendly. This was our second time renting this property and we are hoping to rent again next year.

Derek's home was fantastic to stay at once again! This time around we had a group of friends with us and the house was perfect for five adults, a baby, and two dogs. Derek is also a great VRBO host who is prompt to respond to messages, and is just a really kind dude who we were lucky to meet while we were on the island this time around. I already have recommended his VRBO to others and will certainly continue to do so!

We had a wonderful stay at Derek’s place! There isn’t anything you could possibly need that isn’t in this home awaiting you. It was going to be colder weather, than we had originally anticipated, so Derek went out of his way to ensure the gas fireplace and heat was working perfectly for us upon our arrival. He truly went above and beyond, with all his recommendations and special touches, to ensure we had the perfect stay! Thank you for everything Derek!

The Marshmellow had everything we needed to enjoy our time on the island.The kitchen had everything we needed to cook with.Dog friendly and included a golf cart.All the beds were very comfortable.The house was very clean top to bottom.Our host Derek was quick to answer any questions we had.I would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay!

Marshmellow is the perfect name for this house. It is located on a street in a quiet neighborhood. It’s a little further out, but the beauty of Ocracoke is that even the further out houses are only a mile or two from town. The house was clean and perfect for a family of four!

Great place to stay

My family and I enjoyed our stay at this house during our trip to Ocracoke. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and it was convenient to everything in the village. The screened in decks and porches allowed us to have dinner outside and enjoy the nice weather and the views of the island. I would highly recommend it and I look forward to staying there again when we return to Ocracoke.

This house was in a perfect spot ! The kitchen was very well stocked . We loved sitting on the screen back porch in the evening watching the birds.there is nothing this house didn’t have even with the weather not so great for our visit we definitely enjoyed our stay. We can't say enough great things about our stay here! The house was beautiful, super comfortable, and had everything we needed. The kitchen was well-appointed, and we loved having the outdoor shower, bikes, and golf cart available to use. The location was perfect—close to shops and restaurants. We loved the screened-in porches, and there were so many nice, thoughtful touches throughout the house that made our stay extra enjoyable.Our host was fantastic, answering any questions we had right away and making sure everything went smoothly. Excellent Rental Choice

This place is excellent; it lives up to the online pictures. Great neighborhood. The decks and screened in porch are great too. The golf cart is a great extra that saves you money. On my next trip to Ocracoke, I will try to stay here again.

Amazing getaway in Ocracoke!

We had an amazing trip and really enjoyed this house. Much larger than pictured online and Derek was a fantastic host! We had everything we needed and the golf cart and bikes provided were a hit! We will definately visit Marshmellow again!

Great place on Ocracoke!

Perfect spot for a long weekend with family. Golf cart was a bonus! The porches and decks had great views of the marsh. Very well appointed kitchen. Looking forward to returning.
