This was our second visit to Island Escape and it never disappoints. We love the peacefulness this escape gives us. We enjoyed seeing deer, grilling out, playing cards and listening to old records. The house is always very clean and well stocked with cookware, towels and games. The hosts are so kind and are always very quick to respond to any questions.

This is our second Father's Day in a row visiting this special cabin on Drayton island. We were incredibly lucky to find it last year. As a family we have fallen in love with this island life. The memories that we've shared will be life-long, and wonderful. The hosts treat us wonderfully and the environment is simply unbelievable; dear walking around the house at night in the morning, fish jumping at the dock, and just it just a 10 minute ride to either Silver Glen or Salt spring. A short boat ride to Renegades for diner, or Idlewild for breakfast, and again great Father's Day memories!

We booked the cabin for a 5-day mini vacation - part girls' weekend and part Mother's Day celebration. The cabin is so beautifully decorated and well-appointed. It had everything we could ask for including an extensive spice collection, dishes, wine glasses and great cookware selection. Loved all the special touches. We really enjoyed the album and dvd movie collection. A television in every room - if that is important to you. Cards, games and reading materials.
Deer came down every night, birds were plentiful and the sunrises superb. Bring long pants and bug spray for walks and evening. Nights can get cool sometimes, even in the summer.
Arrangements for boat rental, guide services and parking was challenging, but all the planning worked out. Loved going north to Welaka for lunch on the water and seeing the lower Ocklawaha River (a peaceful windy river perfect for sightseeing and fishing) and south to Silver Glen for swimming and snorkeling (best done on a weekday). The St. Johns River and Lake George have lots of great history and beautiful homes in many areas.
The Ferry driver was great to work with and that was a special way to end our vacation. A short Monday morning trip back to our car which was parked at a nearby RV resort.
We will be back and recommend to many others. A unique vacation a short distance from our home.

Everything about this trip was surreal. The owners were amazing. Michelle was quick and always helpful with responses and made sure that any questions or concerns were immediately addressed. The house was perfect with enough linens and towels for our entire stay. Like clockwork everyday at about 530 the deer come out into it back yard. The fire pit makes for great evenings enjoying the sunset. Just make sure you have your bug spray. This stay is remote so it is imperative to bring everything you need or think you'll need. There are marinas that are a quick boat ride for small things like ice, snacks or drinks but for anything else you will need to hop back in the car. We will definitely be reserving this property again and can't wait to go back.

Owners were very respectful and there to make sure we had a great experience. Cottage is cute as a button with that true Florida rustic experience. Had a great time on the lake and even better coming back to the cute cottage. Great overall experience.

Our son requested a weekend on the lake fishing and this property provided that and more. There was no WiFi which was perfect because the two children (ages 12 and 9) played games watched DVD’s and fished. We really enjoyed the family time. Our hosts were very helpful. They provided the fishing poles and supplies for s’mores. It was a very special weekend

This place has it all. Well-appointed, gorgeous touches. Plenty of space to relax in seclusion. Owners easy to communicate with and offer some great amenities. The property itself is fabulous---nice water views and a huge awesome yard to run around in. Fire pit was an added bonus. We can't wait to visit again!

The owners are the nicest people we have ever met. Very accommodating. Helped us with our boat when it wouldn’t start. We arrived late. They stood out on the edge of the dock to ensure we found the right place since it was dark. They helped us carry our things to the house. I mentioned it was my husbands birthday. There was a happy birthday balloon waiting with the treats to make s’mores. The house itself was beautiful. So quaint. The property was amazing. We took advantage of the hammock, corn hole s d fire pit. We will certainly be back. While the property brought us there .. the owners will be a maim reason we come back. Thank you!

We had the most amazing stay at Hammock Cottage on Drayton Island! The accommodations exceeded our expectations. The home was pristine and beautifully decorated with lots of southern charm. The cottage was well stocked with all the necessities. We loved exploring the island, it was Old Florida at its best. We fished, went for boat rides on the river with at stop at a Renegades for lunch! Mornings started with a hot cup of coffee while sitting on the dock soaking up the peace and tranquility of a sunrise and evenings ended with a quick boat ride around the corner to watch the most amazing sunsets. Steaks on the grill and a bonfire topped off the evening. Many laughs and memories were made with family and friends. I can't wait too go back!
