Perfect location right on Waikiki beach! The hotel courtyard cannot be beat with it’s pool, bar, dining, location, and oldest Banyon tree! Service is also great. Will be back after their upcoming major renovations..

Unfortunately, all balconies on the hotel were bolted closed due to an incident on one balcony at the second floor. This was a Major issue as we had booked Ocean view with balcony and were planning on spending much time on the Balcony daily. Other it was limited availability of Cabana's and sun beds. Unless you were willing to line up at 7am, sorry sir all gone. Food was good and ambience excellent. Also to note the sandy beach is manmade and sharp volcanic rock is easily exposed from wave action and they are sharp.

Great hotel but the room is very small. The bathroom is smaller than a river cruise bathroom. Other than that, the hotel itself and location is great. We'd stay here again

Was moved to a room on the Diamond wing due to damage to balcony. Was not told that there would be compensation for the original room. There were two weddings while we were there. The wedding party last night was off the charts loud. We couldn’t even hear the TV due to the noise. The whole wedding party thing is problematic for the guests on that wing. It’s not really fair to expect people to put up with that level of noise. I probably won’t stay there again. I think for full disclosure you should inform people before they arrive about the wedding parties.

The property is a beautiful historic location right in the heart of the Waikiki area, even with its age the room was obviously recently renovated. We were not excited to find the live cockroach in the bed on the first night, and the front desk only offered “well you’re on a tropical island”. Additionally if you book through Expedia they explicitly will not honour your Marriott status, so be aware if those perks are important.

Rooms smell like humidity. My wife requested another room and we were moved. Very upsetting that hotel does not provide beach chairs or umbrellas. That should be included in the $42 daily resort fee...its actually close to $50 when you add the taxes. Rooms were super small, not even in Japan you get such a tiny room. Hotel location was good.

We loved our stay here. you are literally on the beach, cant get any closer! It is also close to everything else you could need. Rooms were perfect for what we needed. The staff at valet parking were less than helpful or even nice for that matter but we let that go.

This was our first time in Waikiki, so we wanted to experience the beach and area from the comfort and convenience of an established hotel. The location is amazing and the courtyard is fabulous. Once you get beyond the lobby though, the rooms are dated, small and lack lustre. There were few amenities and overall we were disappointed. We will be back to Waikiki but will choose a different hotel next time.

You know you are in trouble when on arrival you are told you cannot use your balcony because one collapsed a few days beforehand. You also know you are in trouble when you get to your room and find that across the corridor several very noisy guests are having a party. You REALLY know you are in trouble when having asked reception if they could do something about the noise, nothing happens. The hotel is very tired and in need of a makeover but I guess that Westin see it for what it is, a cash cow.

Location is great and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Biggest issue I had was the pool area and people leaving their towels on the chairs and leaving for many hours. We couldn’t get a chair the first two days because we didn’t go to pool before 8am yet there was at least 8-10 chairs empty. The gym towels ran out on two separate days and I had to change the water twice

We always stay at this hotel when we go to Waikiki. It has friendly staff, lovely historic feel and the best location. The tower wing does need an upgrade as it is showing signs of wear. Still, very happy with the hotel.

Moana Surfrider is a beautiful hotel. They upgraded me to a premier suite and the customer service here is top notch. The view of Diamond Head from our room was gorgeous. Live music and cocktails were great, too. Will definitely be back.

The location ia great, the room could do with an upgrade. I am not impressed with the bell service, basically if you dont tip them or they sense that you are not planning to tip them . Then you are on your own, no appreciate or fair treatment as a human being but rather as an ATM machine

Had to reserve pool chair with umbrella at 7 am. Even though $50 resort fee daily, had to pay for beach chair and umbrella. Concierge gave me wrong info- you would think she’d be better informed. Room average no comfortable chair to sit on only desk chair. No upgrades if you book through Expedia even though gold status with bonvoy. Wouldn’t go back!

The one good thing about Moana is its location. It’s at the center of Waikiki and has the beach in its backyard. Otherwise the rooms are old and small, and I’ve stayed at better Best Westerns than this. Our room constantly smelled of wet rag probably because there’s no proper ventilation in there. It was clean and the housekeepers were nice. There was a single small elevator for our tower. It would be inconvenient for people with strollers or wheelchairs. And a few times I had to wait twice for the elevator to come back with enough space to fit my small stroller. Many of the valets at the front of the hotel were rude to me. Especially one that informed me my rental car safety tag was outdated and they refused to park my car. She seemed to be blaming me for it and was very rude. I honestly would never stay here sgain

The hotel was wonderful!! Loved everything! The only thing that I don't give it 5 stars is the pool. Wish it was a bigger pool to accommodate more people and not so shaded.
