Simbavati River Lodge

"We loved our 3 nights stay! The whole staff was very friendly and present when needed. We loved our drives with Sarah and Joseph, their knowledge, patience and enthusiasm made the drives extra special. They made great effort to see the animals we wanted to see on each drives. We saw the big 5 from really close, multiple times! We loved the terrace in our lodge facing the river, during breaks we would watch elephants, waterbuck and hippos cross the river. The food was diverse and very good. Ralph made sure we had everything we needed and was so welcoming."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Geiger’s camp, the staff, guide and tracker go above and beyond to ensure you have a great experience. The staff was very friendly and outgoing and took the time to learn more about all the guests and take a genuine interest in where we came from and our different experiences. One thing that was a little disappointing for us was that we never got to have the boma experience, which was something we were really looking forward to. Also while the food itself was quite good, the menu consisted of main courses serving varieties of game meats. While I myself enjoyed it, it would have been nice to have a heads up or alternative options for those who aren’t feeling as adventurous. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay."

"We had a wonderful stay at the Protea Villa in Phalaborwa. Marie-Therese was helpful and communicated well. We appreciated the Villa's proximity to the Kruger National Park Gate and local grocery stores."

"Simbavati Hilltop is top notch! From the 9 times per day (yes, that is NINE times) that you are fed, to the staff, game drives, views and rooms! Not only do you have your own plunge pool overlooking the river, but there is also a shared, larger pool. There is also a daybed at the room, outdoor shower, fully stocked complimentary mini bar and very comfortable bed! We saw hippo and elephant from our room. On game drives, lions feasting on a giraffe, hyena and wild dogs interacting, 2 leopards and more. We have now stayed at all of the Simbavati lodges in Timbavati and Klasarie and they are all excellent! Highly recommend!"
