"The Royal Zanzibar Resort has stunning views of the ocean, a white sand beach, plenty of activities to participate in, and gorgeous pools and restaurants. A highlight for me was eating at The Cliff Restaurant which has amazing views. The open air gym was nice for a workout in the morning. The room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. All the staff go out of their way to make your experience enjoyable. They advise you of the government imposed tax, and other than that, there were no hidden fees. The price I paid through Expedia included all I could eat and drink at the resort! I highly recommend this place. I travelled here alone as a woman and felt completely safe on the property. "

"Deluxe room was more of a suite with separate kitchen area, bathroom & bedroom, Large balcony with both chairs and a twin hammock. Not plush by European standards but quite nice anyway. AC was great, wifi was good, food was good. A couple of silly rules, IE outside drinks will be confiscated but a nice stay."

"The property was great. The pool was convenient and there was plenty of sun chairs for the amount of guests. The resort has everything you need from a convenient store, massage, PADI shop and two restaurants. The happy hour is great but the food is so-so. The hotel staff are kind and very helpful. The staff at the restaurant are kind but sometimes on island time and orders aren’t always correct, which happens sometimes. Overall would recommend. The AC in our room didn’t blow all the way to the bedroom as it was in a corner. The fan breeze somehow could not go through the bed net. And the washroom stayed fairly humid and warm. "
