"Hotel S Bento is your typical larger hotel. The staff, however, was very friendly and helpful. We did have dinner in the hotel one night which was quite good but if you are looking for ambiance, it's not at this hotel. The location worked out perfectly with easy access to the National Park which was our primary desire. I'd stay again but simply be ok with a "hotel" vs. any type of BnB."

"This was one of our favorite places we stayed in Portugal. The lady who runs this is absolutely wonderful (as well as her pet goat and dogs). She even makes a lovely homemade breakfast, by request, for only 6€ a person. In the morning, we could smell her homemade bread baking. The suite we stayed in had a full kitchen, a super comfortable bed, nice bathroom and a beautiful balcony with a view of the hills. The property is very quiet and located in such a peaceful area. If we ever go back to Portugal, we are staying at this ranch again. "

"We enjoyed our stay very much and the cottage, private garden and shared pool were exceptional.However, it would have been helpful, having arrived tired, late, all shops closed , without provisions to have a starter/welcome pack. A little tea, coffee & milk to tide us over - till we could find a shop the following day, would have been much appreciated. Unfortunately the Air Con machines didn’t work and it was very warm. We had to purchase a fan, which of course we had to leave due to flying, until the engineer came a day or two later. Despite these issues - it’s a beautiful cottage in a charming setting and makes a good base for sightseeing in northern Portugal."
