"This is not a 3 star hotel, this is a 5 star Hotel"
Very professional and quick check in process. The Front desk associate was really nice and went above and Beyond.
Hotel is always clean. The General Manager is always very pleasant and works to ensure that all areas are running properly. I believe her name is Tracy. But she is always nice and is looking out for others. I made a point to acknowledge that upon check out. I have stayed at so called 5 star hotels and have never had the service I get at Drury La Cantara. I have tried to look at other hotels but when it comes down it I know what to expect at this hotel and know that I wont get anything close anywhere else.
Great job to the staff and management at this location!
From the entrance to the outside views, you feel relaxed and pampered. We really enjoyed the wine tasting in the late afternoon. The indoor lap pool was a good temperature and really big--a great way to exercise and have fun. Then a relaxing experience in the hot tub just completed the experience. Suggestion: A time when no children allowed in indoor pool and hot tub area...like not after 7:30. The room was very well appointed with comfortable beds. All of the employees were friendly and helpful. I went with a girlfriend, but want my husband to come with me the next time and get to see this lovely hotel.
I had a number of special requests during my stay - printing documents, need for shuttle service, etc. and in every case the staff went out of their way to make my life easier, enabling me to attend to the business I was there to do. Thanks!!
I always try to stay at a Super 8 when I travel. I always get a clean room and good service for the money. I wish the hotel was closer to Lackland Air Force base, but other than that, the staff was nice, my room was clean, and it was quiet.
I wasn't too impressed with the continental breakfast. There was cereal, waffles, bread, and pastries (pre-packaged and fresh) as well as juice and coffee. I wish there would have been oatmeal, bagels (with cream cheese), and maybe bacon/sausage and scrambled eggs. It was okay, but I was really hoping for something hot other than waffles.
The coffee maker in my room took FOREVER to make a pot. It was over an hour and it was still brewing.
Other than that, I feel as if I got my money's worth. I would stay there again as I felt safe and comfortable.
Northwest San Antonio’s gentle, rolling hills mark the transition from prairie to Texas Hill Country. In a nod to the local history and geology, The Rim entertainment and retail complex is housed inside a former quarry. Nearby, The Shops at La Cantera angle for well-heeled consumers. This area is also home to two major theme parks: Six Flags Fiesta Texas and SeaWorld San Antonio.
