Very good

The picture shows whole property (and mentions 4 bedrooms so I assumed this was the entire property to rent) but this is actually two rentals in the one house with a shared deck, etc. Others staying in the other part of the home took over our section of the beach. We only stayed one night and couldn’t get a refund. Owner was nice, place was clean.. but very disappointing to find out the place is not private unless you rent both areas.
Service was fabulous any issues were taken care of immediately. Highly recommend

Nice time, could have been better
The location of the property was excellent. We loved the private beach front lot. Questions were answered immediately by Kyle and he was accommodating. Getting the check-in instructions the day of the trip was a bit unusual. In the past we always received instructions two weeks prior. The listing did mention on-site laundry but that was not available. Kyle thanked me for pointing that out and said he would correct it. Lastly, we had about 35 spoons available and 3 forks. The house does need more forks.

Not worth the money
I've thought about not leaving a negative review but we were so disappointed in the stay along with the money we paid. The house was not clean when we got there, the garbage outside was over full, back room has no ac, the house smells of mold, the cookware is unusable because it's ancient. The beach is shared so there's a chance you won't get much space on the beach. The other side has access to the garage so when it's opened it echoes so loud through the house. There was writing on one bathroom wall, the other bathroom has a huge crack going right down it and mold on the wall. I could go on with everything we found wrong. The pictures don't show the true house. Was beyond disappointed in the house. Ended up leaving a day early.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. But the outdoors needs work. Positive: -Easy Check-in, they even let us arrive an hour early. -Inside was clean, inviting and stocked with towels.-Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed except sharp knives, but I picked up a sharpener and left it for the next guests. -The indoor space was as described. -The outside front porch was cleanNegative: -The "Steps" to the dock are a huge accident waiting to happen. The rocks are loose and there are no longer steps of any kind. This is extremely dangerous. You can walk over through the overgrown bushes and by the bird poop table and get to a spot to walk down to the beach with less rocks but it is not easily accessible. -The outside, side porch was a disaster! It was not useable for seating. It had not been cleaned since at least last year if not longer. - The grill on the same porch was old, moldy, covered in spiderwebs and otherwise very dirty. It took a long time to get the gas to run to it and it doesn't get very hot. I had to clean it before use and it was still pretty gross. -The sink in the main bathroom wouldn't drain I had to take out the plug because the piece you push to make it pop up wasn't actually connected. - The book with helpful info should be on the dining room table. I I later found it in the back of the livingroom. If they fixed the steps and cleaned the back porch this would have been a 5 Star Review.
Stayed here for a short vacation in early October. Host was amazingly responsive, house was large, clean, and well supplied, and Great Sacandaga Lake are is particularly beautiful at this time of year. Would be lots of fun in the summer with lake access as well.. Thanks Kyle!
The South Shore Lake House Hideaway was exactly what we were looking for for our summer family reunion / vacation! The grounds and lake front property are beautiful! The new dock was great and had plenty of space for our pontoon boat and provided a nice swimming area.
The house is good with 4 roomy bedrooms and a nice kitchen & dinning area. It was just big enough for our family of 7 adults (* and a dog!) We especially enjoyed sitting on the deck, that overlooks the lake, every day!
This house is great and we are considering renting it again next summer!
