The frontage and reception were excellent. The room was shabby. Cold shower (despite trying it at different times of the day) Received an ‘accessible’ room when there was a door leading to another room. That room was occupied and unfortunately that person had a cough and kept the light on all night. Which was visible under the door. The carpet in the room was absolutely disgusting too. However, the things to do around York kept us busy and out of the hotel for the most part

The hotel was an excellent location and the staff were very approachable and helpful. Breakfast options were outstanding. The only down side was parking turned out to be more expensive because of no spaces at the own car park.

The property is very dated. Our room was extremely old fashioned and dated. The carpet was stained and had long hairs on it, so if you walked barefoot you’d get them between your toes - disgusting. The bathroom is very dated also with no working extractor fan so when you have a shower the room gets so wet that condensation drips from the ceiling! Just a very old-fashioned, dated hotel in desperate need of renovation.

The hotel is average 3*. Staff started to make noise at 8am , chatting loud with some other people next to our door,despise the fact that we had a privacy card hanging on the handle. The only thing is good about this hotel is location.

My only complaint was the humming noise coming from the corridor at night.Not sure if it was the lights or heating , but being a light sleeper this kept me awake.Apart from that the hotel was lovely,staff very attentive & happy to help. Will definately be back

The location of the Hilton in York is brilliant. It’s a 4-5 minute walk to The Shambles and the heart of York. Didn’t have to use taxis at all. Very safe area. Underground car park with electric charging point very convenient. Good choice for breakfast. The only issue we had was the shower head wouldn’t move a useable position as the adjustable holding was broken.

We arrived for my husbands 40th Birthday (so special trip for us) the bathroom had silver fish running round the floor it was absolutely disgusting. The bath had brown stains - we were so disappointed. I went to reception to complain and although they were amenable and moved us to another (very basic- though not crawling with silver fish) room, having 2 young kids and bags this was not the most convenient when we’ve arrived after a full day of walking around York. I would have expected some more customer service- maybe a drink for the inconvenience etc but there was nothing like that. With the brand and reputation of Hilton I would have expected more. This was a special birthday present trip we were incredibly disappointed.

Perfect location. However, certain staff members were rude and not welcoming. This being the valet guy! He just made you feel so uncomfortable. Not great when you’re paying £25 to park there.

Lovely location in York. Not as welcoming as I've found with chains such as premier inn. Almost felt like the staff thought we were in the wrong place. Some areas are getting ready for a more thorough clean or freshen up, but comfortable and serviceable.

Great location! 90% of the staff were great! Bathroom was a little dirty. Beds were small and not comfortable. Common areas were great. Food was great!

2nd Stay Great location.
Our 2nd Stay here great Location. Car parking at hotel a Bonus on 1st come 1st. Very comfortable Bed. And all staff so friendly even recognised on of the Valet staff from our 1st visit. Breakfast plentiful.

We were put in a room just above where deliveries are made early each morning. So we were woken early each morning for about an hour to loud rattling, barrels and boxes and people shouting and laughing loudly. A disappointing stay.

Hilton York noisy and bathroom not maintained prop
Was in room 122, there was a 2 inch chip out of the bath that had just been painted over badly. Rest of the room was fine, maybe it was the time of year, but people banging round and slamming doors till 4am so we gave up and left.
