"Very nice hotel, convenient to Temple Square and light rail stop. The staff was friendly and helpful. Room rate was a little less than others in the area. Breakfast buffet was good but not amazing, and pricey (the restaurant staff and waiter were very gracious)--I didn't eat other meals there. There is the usual urban traffic noise, but you'd get that with any downtown hotel and it wasn't bothersome. Would definitely recommend and stay there again for the pleasantness and convenience. It's also steps away from the Utah Symphony, and that was a highlight."

"I was charged full price after letting the staff know that there was an awful smell in the room and also dried up crusty what looked like blood, throw up or alcohol on the top trim of the door frame in tge bathroom. The room felt absolutely disgusting. The breakfast was good and my parents had a room across the room from me which felt so much nicer and clean."

"We booked this hotel to attend business meetings and a formal dinner. We arrived around 4:00 p.m. needing to get ready, but our room was not ready while other guests were being checked in. There were also unexpected fees, including parking charges and credit card holds for incidentals. Self-parking was not realistically available because there were not enough spaces. The most serious issue happened overnight. This is advertised as a non-smoking hotel, but around 2:30 a.m. our room filled with a suffocating smoke-like odor. Because of medical concerns, we needed a clean, safe environment. We immediately contacted the front desk, placed towels under the door, but the smell kept getting worse. At about 3:20 a.m., we were finally moved to another room. After little to no sleep, we were still charged for the full night. The general manager said the hotel “cannot control its guests” and was not accommodating. He also acknowledged that after his employee informed him of the situation, he did not get any sleep either, and that the affected rooms would not be available for guests for some time. That confirms this was not a minor inconvenience. As someone who has stayed at hundreds of Hiltons around the world, this was one of my most disappointing experiences. I expected much better from Hilton and would not recommend this location. "

"Homestead has completely lost its charm. Some updating was needed and good, but they’re trying to make it into a fancy resort and crowding so many new buildings into it that there’s no place to stroll anymore and feel like you’re in a rural place. So many trees are gone, and there’s no more birdsong like there used to be. And the prices are exorbitant, from the room rates to the food prices. Plus, the endless construction over the last few years makes it noisy and dusty. And there was no place to park when we got there ( same as last year) because they hadn’t finished the main parking lot, so they told us we could park on one side of the road into the resort, but it was already almost filled up. I don’t know why we continue to come here—I guess our old memories of it continue to draw us there. Just disappointing. Bigger and fancier isn’t always better."
