This charming one-bedroom, one-bath beachfront cottage, nestled in a tranquil cove in Cayman Kai, has been transformed into a luxurious romantic hideaway and an authentic Caymanian retreat. Featuring stainless steel appliances, coastal-chic decor, refreshing Caribbean cross-breezes, abundant sunshine, and a lavish king-sized bed with a queen pullout couch, this cottage offers the epitome of comfort and style. And to top it off, it's conveniently located just across from the iconic Rum Point Beach Bar and Restaurant.

At Rum Point, guests can indulge in snorkeling in the crystal-clear shallows, relish Surf & Turf dining right on the beach, sip on freshly stirred cocktails (rum-based, naturally!), rent Wave runners, embark on sailboat excursions, and more. After a day of adventure, retreat to Rum Sands to unwind in elegant surroundings. Situated within an intimate 3-cottage complex on Sand Point Cove, Rum Sands boasts a coastal-chic interior that sets it apart.

A screened-in lanai offers sweeping views of the sandy cove and its lush tropical landscaping, complete with a gentle breeze stirred by a twirling ceiling fan. Two Adirondack chairs just outside the lanai invite you to sit back and watch the sunrise over the cove. Guests can also explore the area with the double kayak provided by Rum Sands or opt to rent a bicycle or boat for further adventures.

Located in Cayman Kai/Rum Point, a predominantly residential area on the serene northern shore of Grand Cayman, Rum Sands offers a peaceful escape. While a rental car is recommended for convenience, guests can enjoy a scenic 45-minute drive from the airport to reach this idyllic destination.

Wonderful!

Amazing location! Loved being able to kayak on the bioluminescent bay and the quick walk across the street to the beach. Home was spacious, clean and was perfect for our getaway.

A wonderful place to stay in Rum Point

Having never been to Grand Cayman or Rum Point before, we didn't quite know what we were looking for. This unit is one of the very few that has both bay frontage (on the bio bay - TOTALLY worth it) as well as ocean view from the front porch. You are literally looking at water on both sides. For the money, this place can't be beat. And the host was super helpful with answering questions about local restaurants and experiences. Highly recommend

Bio bay getaway

This VRBO is right on bioluminescence bay and across the street from the newly renovated Rum Point. Needless to say it is near the main attractions on this side of the island. Nice accommodations for couple or small family. They even have a kayak for you to take a stroll in the bay.

Love the location! It is well stocked and clean upon arrival. Jennifer is great with communication. Bikes are included in the description, but no bikes were available. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and will stay there again.

Lovely cottage in the middle of paradise

Older home, but still in great condition and very comfy and clean. Screened in porch was a plus. Tons of outdoor sitting/relaxing space. Having a kayak was great to kayak the bioluminescence bay. Driving distance to Starfish Point which was an excellent beach to hang out for the day. Took cooler and chairs provided - thank you! Also walking distance to Rum Point bar and restaurant if you want time out. Would definitely stay again!

Awesome!

The apartment is great. The location is unbeatable. Would definitely come back. Check-in was a little difficult because I deleted the email with the instructions and had a hard time getting a hold of anyone who could help me. Once I got the instructions, it was easy. The air-conditioning took a long time to cool down the house, but once it was cooled down, it maintained just fine.

Great location

The location of this property is amazing! There is a beach across the street where the snorkeling was fantastic…. Sea turtles, sting ray… parrot fish! We walked every morning through the beautiful neighborhood! A car is a must!! We had a bit of a hiccup with the checkin but it was resolved and the manger was responsive and everything worked out in the end.

The bioluminescent bay is in the backyard. A kayak was provided for our use and we went out at night into the bay. The bioluminescence is amazing and a MUST SEE.

Beautifully appointed property

This cottage was even better than we expected. It was a bit hard to find the first time, but it was a great location. It was right across the street from the beach, and just steps away from the bioluminescent bay. The cottage was so charming! It had a fully stocked kitchen (cooking supplies, not food) and even had water bottles in the fridge. The bed and pillows were comfortable. There were plenty of towels, including beach towels. There was also bug spray and sunscreen! There were 2 enclosed porches, which was unexpected, plus sunchairs you can take to the beach, and a cooler. We were very comfortable and happy there. The only tough thing was that it is at least a 45 minute drive into George Town, more if there was traffic. Overall, we were very happy in this cottage. Thank you for a great experience!

Perfect Location for Bio Bay Self Kayak and Rum Point Snorkeling and Sunsets

The location is absolutely perfect! Rum Point is the best. 1. Best Part. Access to Bio Bay with a kayak. Easy paddle on flat bay to see the bioilluminescence. Perfect location for free access to bio bay. 2. Directly across the street is public access to the ocean side of Rum Point for amazing snorkeling. Swim out to coral gardens or out to the barrier reef for some of the best snorkeling on the island. Also the beach has amazing sand for the best ohotos of the best sunsets on the whole island. 3. Starfish point is just around the corner. See the starfish for free. The Rum Point facilities across the street have a nice restaurant and access to boat trips for stingray samdbar, snorkeling, and other trips. Jet ski rentals. House was clean and pleasant. Grounds very well kept. Washer/dryer for wet clothes from all the snorkeling was great. Host Jennifer was helpful and responsive.

Great Location in Rum Point

Right on the end of bioluminescent bay with a very short walk to Rum Point Beach. Having access to a double kayak was great to explore the bay during the day and at night to see the water turn blue while you paddle around. The water in the bay is very shallow, about 4 ft deep. Did not see anyone swimming in it, but kayaking and paddle boarding and deep enough for boats and jet skis to go in and out. Lots of outdoor furniture to enjoy a lazy day near the water. Quiet neighborhood, not a lot of traffic in this area. Well equipped home. Would definitely stay there again. Good communication with the host. Great area to spend a few days. Had good experiences at both the Rum Point and Kaibo restaurants. Note that there are only 2 restaurants in the immediate area so reservations are recommended. A 3rd one is about a 10-15 minute drive. Overall, a nice place to stay and one of the best locations for that area.

Rum Point Getaway

We had a wonderful time on Grand Cayman staying at the Rum Sands Condo. It was just perfect for the two of us. The condo was clean and had great amenities. We used the cooler, beach chairs, and towels every day. We used the Weber grill and the double kayak several times. (Bioluminesence was fantatic!) Plenty of toilet paper, paper towel, soap, shampoo, laundry soap, and charcoal was provided. (I don't know if this is the norm or not!) There was even bottled water in the fridge for us. Jennifer from the property management was super friendly and helpful. The lanai and all the chairs outside were perfect for morning coffee and the blender provided looked small but packed a punch and made beautiful mudslides, and the ice maker works great - better than ours at home. Rum Point beach was lovely. The restaurant there was great and we could snorkel right out to what I think was a marine park. We saw a sea turtle and several sting rays not too far out. It's a bit of a drive back to Georgetown, but we only made that trip once, otherwise, we loved the location. The only negative was the lack of plastic cups - I recommend you bring your own refillable bottle. Stay here and you will not be disappointed!

Perfect Rum Point location with bioluminescent bay in the backyard!

Really enjoyed our stay here. Nice landscaping and an attractive unit as part of a multiplex. A quiet place for getting away from it all, but very close to the water. This is a nicely-organized place with a bedroom and bathroom up a half-flight, and kitchen/dining/living area that's spacious. Out the back door, there's a lanai with table and chairs for lounging or having a meal (safe from mosquitoes - being next to the little cove off the north bay, there's a lot of mosquitoes, and they provided some mosquito repellent which you want to put on if you're going to be in the area for any length of time). Kitchen has all the basics, and you have a lot of dinnerware. Baking might be a little challenge, but enough pots and pans to cook meals. Full-sized micro, fridge, oven/stove, garbage disposal sink, and a small but quite effective dishwasher. A/C works great. There are automatic metal shutters on the back windows (from the LR and BR) - just push a button on the remote to close/open them as needed. Nice way to lock up and block out some light for nighttime. W/D worked great, too, so you don't have. to pack as many clothes for your trip! They had a kayak for your use in the backyard (life vests and chairs in the lanai) and you could just drag it out to the shore off your backyard to launch. Across the street is Rum Point, a minute's walk to that beach which faces the northern reef of the island.

A little gem

A small but well-equipped property backing on to bioluminescence bay. We loved it. Lovely views out the back to the bay and across the road to the front of the ocean at Rum Point. Just steps from the beautiful beach and a longer walk (maybe 30 minutes) to Kaibo. Quiet and peaceful. We made good use of the kayak to see the bioluminescence which save us the high price of an organised trip. We loved it

Stayed with my daughter, love Rum Point

We have stayed in this very unit in the past and came back specifically because of how much we enjoyed it. It's a short walk from the very underrated Rum Point Beach and there are some cool activities on this side of the island that are less busy than the more commercial Seven Mile Beach area.

Great getaway spot!

I stayed in the house with my wife and mother. We had a great stay there. The living room had a pull out couch bed and my mom was very comfortable there. Super close to Bio-Luminescent Bay and the ocean. Rum Point Beach was closed at our time of stay but they are planning to rebuild it (hopefully). Great place to stay.
