The Salty Dog was as advertised. Wendy and Mark were super helpful and great hosts. We enjoyed the channel view, fishing, corn hole, fire pit as well as khaki on the channel. We would strongly recommend anyone to rent the Salty Dog and we will stay again. Also the Dogs love it as well.

What a gem of a property and community! It was so appreciated to be able to bring our dogs to a resort area with us and Wendy and Mark could not have been more welcoming to all of us! This community feels like a home and we were hosted like personal guests. The place was spotless, check in was smooth and recommendations were just right. Thank you for a relaxing family trip; no doubt we will be back.

My family and I enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed the backyard with a nice breeze and beautiful view of the marsh. Short, easy walk to the beach. Beach was nice with not too many people crowded in space, not too many sea shells that it hurts your feet and the water wasn’t too rough to be able to get in. My dog absolutely loved playing fetch on the beach and getting in the water!!! Loved the beach stuff the house offered, made it very convenient to not have to pack all of that stuff too. Kitchen was well stocked. The owners were available and responsive, enjoyed talking with them. Overall would definitely stay again!

Charming Salty Dog
The Salty Dog was just as lovely as the photos we saw online. It's has beautiful water views and is a short walk to the dog friendly beach. Wendy and Mark were wonderful hosts and thought of every detail. From snacks for both us and our pup upon arrival as well as a very detailed Welcome Book with information about the apartment, dog friendly restaurants, and things to do in the area. They were readily available in the event we had any further questions or needed any assistance. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Wonderful ! It was meant to be .. our staying at the cottage. Hosts were wonderful , cottage immaculate, close to beach . We enjoyed the fire pit after Thanksgiving dinner and the water . The Salty Dog cottage was so lovely and so peaceful ! The beach was just a walk across the street . Wendy and Mark were so pleasant ! We brought my elderly Dad , he had the best time relaxing in the backyard area over looking the intercostal. The area was just perfect . Not far at all from any grocery store or any local restaurant. We so recommend this place . I forgot to mention dog friendly too ! We brought our golden doodle and cockapoo. Perfect stay 😎☀️🐶🐶

The cottage was beautifully decorated and clean. It had everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting on the dock watching the fish jump and the beautiful view. Just a short walk across the street to the beautiful beach. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. We will stay here again.

This is the second time that my wife, twin boys and mini golden doodle have stayed at the Salty Dog. We love the location and how close it is to the beach. The place is always well stocked, clean and beautifully decorated. Wendy is a delight to deal with and very responsive. She is like a family member and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Our family stayed at the Salty Dog Cottage June 10-17th and it was perfect! The location is spectacular, a 2 minute walk out the front door and directly across the street is the public beach access. It was so convenient and we had almost considered renting a golf cart but we did not need it and this particular beach access is not a parking location. Sitting out back and watching the sunset over the marsh was stunning. The kids had a great time with the crab basket and floating around in the water after we were all beached out. I particularly enjoyed the first floor access with no stairs - it made packing and unpacking a breeze. The cottage was perfect size for us as we hang outside more than we do in but our fav was the Carolina room playing cards and/or watching TV after dark. Everything you need was provided. You may want to note, although it was fine for us, that there is a 2 burner stove and a counter top multi-function toaster oven (not full size). It did not hinder us at all we cooked every evening. There is one bathroom which for the most part was fine for us - just plan for it so the fam doesn't start pee pee dancing all over the place - and the men 100% can't sit in there for 40 minutes watching TikTok when there is a line lol! Wendy and Mark (Hank and RIP) are the most gracious hosts and we enjoyed our conversations with them, getting to know them and kinda feel like they are friends now. Not that you even have to ask but they accommodate anything!

The hidden gem!
What a wonderful place to stay. Beautiful fully equipped home with everything you need. Very clean and nice backyard for dogs. 2 min walk to the beach. Beach cart with wonderful chairs and umbrella and cooler. Wendy and Mark are great people and are there to make your stay the best. We absolutely loved our weeklong stay at The Salty Dog Cottage. Wendy and her husband were the best. Very friendly. We made new friends. The deck over the inlet was awesome. We spent alot of time on it drinking coffee and having cocktails. The beds were so comfortable and the Cottage had everything we needed and more. We will be staying there again and I am sure it will be next year!!!
