About this property
Buena Vista Cottage - Walk to 2 beaches!! Newport!
This house has everything you need for a relaxing beach vacation. Aside from the two private beaches that are walking distance from this property, there are several beautiful Rhode Island beaches just a short drive away. The Buena Vista Cottage has an eat in kitchen with GE Cafe appliances and granite countertops. We also offer a coffee bar that is stocked with K-cups. A toaster oven for quick snacks is also provided. In the sun room there is a sitting area and a high top table that can also be used for dining, a night of games with the kids, or cards with some friends. Extra chairs for the kitchen or sunroom are located in the basement. The living room has a couch, two bar stools at the kitchen breakfast bar and a chair with an ottoman. The 55" TV smart TV swivels towards the living room, kitchen, or the sunroom. There is a large coffee table where you can do puzzles on a rainy day or layout your favorite pictures or magazines. The master bedroom features a comfortable queen size Sleep number bed. The decor is relaxing, has beach accents, and has as photography from some of of favorite local locations. We do not offer early check in or late check out. You will need to bring or buy beach towels, We are pet friendly, but we only allow 1 pet per visit.
Ed's Beach - There is limited parking at Ed's beach but this beach is a 3-4 min walk (.3 miles from the house.). This beach is the rockier of the two beaches however has the most amazing sunrises and sunsets. You can also go clamming (RI clamming license required.). The beach has a boat launch and you can also bring your own or rent kayaks/paddleboards. Sorry,. there is no boat trailer parking available as the parking is very limited. You can see the Jamestown bridge and the Newport Bridge from this beach.
Anthony's beach - Anthony's beach is a flat 9-10 minute walk and is .5 miles away from the house. There is no parking available and the beach path is nestled away to reveal a sandy beach. The waves are very subtle as you are in the Bay.
If you like to walk or ride bikes this community is very safe to do both. There is a 1.2 mile loop that takes you by the water and past both beaches. There is very little traffic and residents are very cautious of pedestrians. Be sure to wave as everyone is very friendly.
The town of Wickford, named USA todays best historic town in 2022 is a short 4 minute drive down the road and is super cute. Several restaurants and local business line the main road and the town often has art exhibits and other outdoor events such as the witches paddle near Halloween. Wickford Harbor is gorgeous and is also great to explore!! If you want to rent a Kayak, the Kayak Center is right in the heart of Wickford. Rent a kayak or paddle board for the day or the duration of your stay or go on one of their tours. Eateries to check out are Tate's (Italian), Wickford on the Water (American/seafood), Mickey's (pizza), and Shayna's (lunch). For a unique brunch experience check out Sweet Marie's Tea Cottage. Reservations are required for Sweet Marie's Tea Cottage.

Our favorites are The Narragansett Cafe in Jamestown (15 min drive), Ocean Mist in Matunuck (30 min drive) The Charlestown Rathskeller in Charlestown (30 min drive) and Rosalini's in Pawcatuck (45 min drive). Rosalini's is a little further away but worth the trip. It would be a great final stop after visiting Mystic for the day. There are also smaller venues that have local talent and you can check these out using their websites. East Greenwich is also a very happening spot for great restaurants, music, and shopping and is 15 mins away. Definitely try an expresso martini at Main Street Cafe if you are in town. If you like country line dancing you must try The Mishnock Barn in West Greenwich, which is 20 mins away from the cottage..

The Buena Vista cottage was a great spot for my family and small dog! The neighborhood is very nice and the house is exactly as described, it was clean, quirky, and charming. The hosts were extremely accomodating!
The house was very comfy and had a great decor of seacoast items. Two small beaches were easily accessible and the area was rich with fun and interesting activities!
We enjoyed a great time - thank you!
The property was beautifully decorated and comfortable, and the neighborhood was quiet and centrally located to all our activities. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. I would happily stay here again!
Comfortable quiet clean with a cool outdoor shower. Nice yard in back for relaxing with coffee that you make at the cute coffee bar close to Newport / Point Judith
The cottage was lovely and easily accommodated our family of 4. We could explore area towns (most a short distance) and return for a lovely evening. The neighborhood was quiet and made for a beautiful location to enjoy a walk along the water. The hosts provide a book of suggested restaurants, activities, etc and they were spot on. Overall a wonderful stay!
Adorable Cape Cod close to URI and Newport. Clean and well appointed. Owners were very easy to communicate with and helpful. The only suggestion I would have is to ask for additional blankets for the bedrooms if you are staying off season.
The house was immaculate and decorated beautifully. We were all impressed with the amenities. There were 5 of us and didn’t feel crowded. We visited downtown Warwick and drove up the coast. We walked to the nearby beaches. Exceeded expectations.
The cottage is as advertised. Clean and cozy, but with living room and sun room there is plenty of sitting area. The kitchen has all appliances & equipment needed for those who like to cook in. The back yard is fenced in with chairs and firepit. Great for morning coffee or evening with family around fire. Quick walk to local beaches and a good central location for Wickford, Newport and Narragansett activities. Family had a great time and thanked me for finding a great place to stay!
From the minute we saw the cottage we knew it was going to be a great vacation. The property and cottage are well maintained with inviting flowers adorning the entrance. It was close to everything we wanted to do. We explored Providence (30 minute ride) and had amazing food at their Little Italy section, and pastries to die for. An evening enjoying dinner on the water and watching the sunset in Jamestown was lovely. Everywhere is dog friendly and even though we didn't bring ours it is great to know for the next time we come on vacation! Views from both beach areas close to the cottage are spectacular.
This was an awesome getaway weekend in a beautifully decorated beach cottage! We chose this home because it was close to the college we were setting our daughter up in during our stay. However, this home offered so much more. The hosts were awesome from day one! We were highly impressed with updated appliances, water filtration system, attention to details while decorating while supporting local businesses was top notch! We also loved the variety of K-Cups offered for our morning coffee! The neighborhood was quiet and the home is within close proximity to two small local beaches. Everyone waved to one another in the town and the neighbors loved our dogs as well. This cottage is a true gem! Nyree and Brian were perfect hosts! We cannot wait to go back!
So grateful for the added support when plans changed with my daughter’s ACL surgery. Nyree and Brian researched accessible areas to allow my whole family to enjoy restaurants and outings. Their home was so comfortable and well-stocked. The neighborhood was quiet and allowed us to push the wheelchair for walks. We loved the kayak, and my daughter was able to read her book in her wheelchair. There were easy steps so that she could use her crutches to get in and out of the house. Being sensitive to the humidity, the air conditioning was perfect. The attention to decor and the beautiful flowers gave us sunshine on a rainy day. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will definitely return. Mary Lou B. Westfield, Massachusetts
My friends and I enjoyed this cottage immensely. It is very apparent that Nyree takes a great deal of pride in her home and in the furnishings of it. We were so impressed with the furnishings (So much, that I stopped at the furniture store that she purchased the dining room table at and bought one for myself) and the extras available for our use such as a wagon and chairs to haul stuff to the beach. Having the outdoor shower, which was such a special treat and the smokeless fire pit and the Adirondack chairs provided us so much comfort in our stay. While we were there, we experienced an issue and contacted Nyree. Not only did she immediately send someone over, but she promptly refunded my account without me asking. These are the type of people that I want to do business with! You won’t be disappointed and I highly recommend that you stay here in North Kingstown!

Liked: Cleanliness, location
Disliked: Check-in, communication
We were surprised with our stay based on the reviews. The house was nice and the location was really good, but the overall experience left it somewhat to be desired. It started with not receiving the check-in information until 52 minutes AFTER the reservation started, rather than the 30 minutes before that we were told. This was only an issue because half our group got their earlier than us and couldn't drop their stuff off until we gave them the code.Next, the listing said that there were beach towels provided. However, once we arrived and looked through the binder they provided (which was very helpful), we found that the beach towel portion was crossed out. When we reached out about the beach towels at 4pm on our first full day there (we stayed 4 days) to see if this was a mistake, it took over 48 hours to hear back, at which point it was our last day and they only responded that they would look into it and get back to us.The house had some oddities. For one, there was a large liquor bar right next to the 3rd bedroom that did not have a light switch. My wife, our baby and I stayed in this room so the baby woke up when we went into our room at night. Additionally, the only way to get into the master bedroom was either through the second bedroom or the bathroom.Overall it was still a good stay, but we were very surprised given the cost and that it had 10/10 reviews for everything. It seemed to be more set up for the owners than as a vacation rental.
This was great home base for our Newport, RI coast vacation. The home was very clean, comfortable, and the owner was very communicative. We enjoyed the neighborhood for morning/evening walks and runs. Wickford is a cute town to explore with good restaurants. A great stay.
House was very clean. It had all the amenities that you would need. Nice location in quiet neighborhood. Close to beaches. We had 4 adults and two children-would definitely recommend it!
A wonderfully updated and quaint cottage by the sea. Enjoyed proximity to Wickford Villiage, Narragansett and Newport. Lovely neighborhood for walks with friendly neighbors. We really enjoyed staying for a long weekend.
This property is perfectly situated for walks to the local beaches or trips to Newport, Narragansett, Wickford, URI, etc. I loved the decor, backyard, neighborhood and the detailed recommendations left by owners. We will definitely be back!!
This property was the epitome of a "cottage by the sea". It is beautifully decorated and has a very homey, relaxing atmosphere. It is centrally located to all the sights and things to do in Rhode Island. The owners are wonderful and let us know about things to do during our stay, and places to go which was extremely helpful, since it was our first time in RI.
Beautiful and very clean! It’s a bright and cheerful little cottage. The design and amenities were top-notch. They thought of everything and communicated well. It was a great place to vacation with our adult children. Centrally located to Newport mansions, the beach, antique stores and charming Wickford. We loved our stay there and definitely recommend it to others.
