We stayed for one night. Ordered room service for dinner. The food was hot and tasty. The attendant, however questioned our voluntary gratuity and advised that we follow the recommended percentages on the receipt. That was off-putting. The following morning we ordered room service for breakfast. The oats were cold but the French toast was hot and tasty. The attendant was much more pleasant and warm this time.
The staff were very friendly. One night we wanted to heat up leftovers but there was no microwave we could find. We called the front desk and the brought is a microwave right to our room to plug in and us. The hotel was not close to the beach but about a 15 or 20 minute drive. The hotel was walking distance to many restaurants and a movie theater.
Rooms are nothing special but they were clean. I don't go on vacation to hang out in a hotel room so a clean room is my only concern. The pool and grounds were very nice. Close to beach, restaurants, stores, etc
I expected upgrades since this is now a Wyndam hotel. There have been no changes. The lobby and restaurant are well kept. However, the rooms are not. The bathroom walls were dry rotted and the carpets smelled bad. I would not do this hotel again unless I had no other options.
Although North Fort Lauderdale is mostly residential, many visitors go to enjoy the surf at Pompano Beach and Deerfield Beach. Abundant marine life in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea makes for excellent diving. Just north of downtown, Wilton Manors is a well-known gay enclave. In Coconut Creek, butterflies, parrots, and hummingbirds fly freely at Butterfly World, the world's largest butterfly park.
