Rooms were very clean, property needs some clean up all together, pool was nice, beds were comfortable, staff was very friendly. The only bad thing about this property is the train coming through multiple times through the night. Caused me to wake up a few times throughout the night.
Check in was ok and the overall appearance of the hotel was OK. The area is decent with some places to eat within a 5 minute drive. Room was OK however the windows are very lightweight and so noise is evident and there was lots of mould around the windows and air con unit could really do with being replaced.
Bed and bedding were OK and the towels and bathroom were clean. Room was kept clean and I had no issues with the TV etc, although the wi-fi was a bit iffy at times.
I stayed there for 4 nights. While the structure and rooms at first glance look very nice, functionally the room was lacking: there was only one dresser and one robe, and one luggage rack in this 2 queen-sized beds room. Also the furnishings were shabby (floor lamp with tilted/collapsing shade), the bed was too high and not particularly comfortable, and the small appliances in the room (blowdryer and phone, especially) looked as though they had been taken from the Seinfeld tv show set back in the 80s. The clock radio was completely missing and never replaced, though other extra toiletries and robe I requested did show up promptly. It is more a business facility but I chose it for our personal use since we had a group and I wanted something with a restaurant and bar in the hotel. Also, why does the bar close at midnight, even on the weekend? The 2 times I stopped in about 15 minutes before they shut down, I'd say there were half a dozen or more people in there. It just seems to be kind of early to me.
The hotel room had a old carpet smell. Our room had fleas that kept biting us all night. I believe the people that stayed in the room prior to us had a dog. I don't think housekeeping did a thorough deep cleaning. Luckily we were able to move rooms. Second room was much better, no fleas.
Was just ok left at 1:30 in the morning because noise and being asked if i wanted drugs by hotel guest. Then when imgot home at 2:35 hotel desk had nerve to call me to ask if i had someone in room yes my girlfriend who i paid for. Never again thank you.
Although North Fort Lauderdale is mostly residential, many visitors go to enjoy the surf at Pompano Beach and Deerfield Beach. Abundant marine life in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea makes for excellent diving. Just north of downtown, Wilton Manors is a well-known gay enclave. In Coconut Creek, butterflies, parrots, and hummingbirds fly freely at Butterfly World, the world's largest butterfly park.
