COVID-19 has transformed the world in ways big and small, including how we can travel safely. The following tips will help you better understand these new challenges and prepare you for your flight to Nordaustlandet:

• Investigate if any travel restrictions apply to your destination and origin before booking. Also check if there are any requirements you'll need to follow on arrival, such as installing a contact tracing app.
• When you pass through airport checkpoints, keep your face mask on. You will be asked to briefly lower it for ID purposes. Anyone refusing to wear a mask may be fined and denied boarding.
• To reduce the risk of cross-contamination, position your boarding pass on the reader yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA agent.
• You are now permitted to take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on bag. You'll have to remove it for screening.
• To minimize handling during screening, put items such as your phone, keys and wallet into your carry-on instead of the bins.
• Separate any food you're carrying for X-ray scanning. Food items often set off the alarm. Placing them in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA officer to touch and inspect your belongings.
