The best area to stay in Nolay is the historic town centre, particularly around the Plaza Mayor.

This central area is the heart of Nolay, characterised by its traditional Castilian architecture, narrow cobbled streets, and a relaxed pace. The Plaza Mayor itself is a beautiful, arcaded square, great for enjoying a coffee or a meal and watching local life unfold. You'll find many of Nolay's key attractions within a short walk, such as the Church of San Miguel and the remains of the old town walls.

For couples seeking a romantic and authentic Spanish experience, staying directly within the historic centre offers unparalleled convenience and charm. You'll be steps away from traditional tapas bars, artisan shops, and the town's most picturesque spots, making it easy to enjoy evening strolls and intimate dinners.

Solo travellers will also appreciate the ease and accessibility of the historic centre. With everything close at hand, it's simple to explore the town's history, find a welcoming cafe, or join a local walking tour.

The best time to visit Nolay depends on your preferences for weather and activities, but generally, spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) offer the most pleasant conditions.

These shoulder seasons provide mild temperatures, ideal for exploring the town and its surrounding natural beauty without the intense heat of summer or the chill of winter. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience when visiting local vineyards or hiking in the nearby Sierra de la Demanda.

For those who enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and cycling, late spring and early autumn are particularly good. The countryside is lush, and the weather is typically sunny but not overly hot, making it comfortable for longer excursions.

If you're interested in local festivities and don't mind warmer weather, July and August can be a good choice, as this is when many traditional Fiestas take place.
