Our second visit in 11 months. It was another incredible, excellent and wonderfully relaxing stay. The staff are the friendliest (shout out to YaYa and team at the Beach Grill, M and Waan at the pool bar - thanks for the 'M Special' drink and Kath at reception whose english is excellent). The Sunset Beach Resort, Takua Pa, is a very new and nice hotel right on the beachfront in a secluded part of the the Thai coastline, north of Khao Lak, on the island of Koh Kho Khao. It is a long taxi ride from Phuket airport and the taxi leaves you at the pier, where you catch a modified long-tail boat to cross the river to the island, where you are met by the resort taxi which takes you to the resort. Overall we have enjoyed our stay in this resort and island. We loved the journey to come to the island and our stay in a beach front bungalow. We are here during the covid outbreak so good to be away from everything. Things to note. Ask for your room to be cleaned when you want it. I loved, loved my stay at haadson and will e back for sure. I was looking for a green peaceful place and found it. From my balcony I had a view to a lil palmtree forest, there were pinetrees and squirrels. It was soooo quiet and beautiful and right next to a lonely beach without the masses. Everyone was friendly and you felt more like a local then a tourist. Nearby restaurants at the beach and your own restaurant. Wifi everywhere for those who want to stay in contact. this is a totally relaxing place, and we felt just that. but don't expect 5 star luxury, although it has some of those attributes; beautiful rooms, lovely bathroom. other aspects like the food quality don't reflect 5 star rating.However the food etc. is more than adequate, and really it is quite a steal at the price. Staff tried their best to help at all times, although limited by the English.....this will improve with time, glad to see they employ locals.

We stayed at the Manathai for 10 days. We didn't realise that it was the wet season but it was great just the same. We went for rest and relaxation. The hotel is a bit away from everything but they do have a free shuttle bus running everyday to take you to town. We ended up hiring a motorbike and went sightseeing...we felt safe on the road. This place is wonderful. Focused on couples who want to experience the best Thailand has to offer. Beyond Resort is 5 STARS at it's best. Villas are private and beautifully located. Staff are friendly and happy to cater for ALL your needs. Breakfast food is great and certainly more than you could as for. We loved the wonderful landscape and access to the beach.
