A former fishing village, Cagnes-sur-Mer became a dynamic and popular seaside resort in the 1970s, thanks in particular to its famous Cros-de-Cagnes beach. Today, Cagnes-sur-Mer skilfully blends tradition and modernity, with its medieval town, historic monuments and wide range of water sports and cultural activities. Cagnes-sur-Mer was awarded first prize in the Concours des Entrées de Ville, a national competition for town entrances, for its exceptional natural setting and its green, aesthetically pleasing landscaping. It's no coincidence that many painters have found it a source of inspiration, drawn by its luminosity, unique atmosphere and timeless charm. Cagnes-sur-Mer is one of the French Riviera's most emblematic jewels, set between the sparkling sea and the picturesque hills.
