For starters, the first appeal was the use of paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, etc. Almost all, were broken or had no plugs. The dock was falling apart. Boards were literally coming up as you walked across. We had a few towels as a group of 8 for a whole weekend, but we did end up finding them in the dryer, along with a few cups in the dishwasher…after hand washing the COUPLE we had. There was mold on the bottom of the shower curtain in the upstairs bath. And to top off the bathrooms, there was a window INTO the bottom bathroom! Besides all the cobwebs and dirt in the house, the beds were at a severe tilt making us sleep on the downstairs couch that smelled absolutely awful. And to top off the whole trip, there were roach traps in every corner and roaches living in the roomba! If you enjoy fun houses, you will enjoy the large wave movement of the floor when walking across. This house will test your vertigo, but the kids arcade room was an absolute delight.
Positive - great location for kayaking access Lake Erie or Detroit River, bedrooms and bathroom very clean, .Negative - Kitchen lacks enough forks, lighting is difficult to figure out and many light bulbs were burnt out, plumbing issue through the home with loud hissing from first floor bathroom. Can not sleep in first floor bedroom because of this.
We had a great time, the floor was coming up and the welcome table was ready to fall with a breath, but we didnt mind as it added to the esthetics. We will stay again.

The place wasn't clean, especially outside. Spider webs all around the outside; doorways especially bad. Upstairs bathtub faucet spit water and air like it hadn't run in a while. That toilet continued to run nonstop. The 1st floor bathroom sink was stopped up all week. Bed sheets were not fresh. The area outside the back door is unsafe and that dock is in immediate need of attention. VRBO should review this property as this is the worst property I have ever rented through VRBO.
The house was good, definitely needs more upkeep to the property, there were spiders and cob webs everywhere on the outside of the house. The area was great, loved being on the lake. The kayaks were good to have to go out on the lake. The view of the lake was nice to look at. The host was very responsive for questions and concerns.

Peaceful location. Could be cleaner.
Beautiful spot to watch the sunset! We enjoyed the kayaks, paddle board and pedal boat. Kids enjoyed the arcade. We explored and enjoyed nearby Luna Pier and Monroe. Pictures are outdated and the upkeep of the property leaves something to be desired. Once we cleaned out cobwebs and the spiders in every corner we managed to enjoy our stay.

Fish camp not Lake house
Let’s be clear, this is a fishing camp. If you have children who want to play on the floor or couch, this isn’t for you. The photos were, to us, misleading. The couch and carpet are dirty. The house smelled of various types of smoke. No towels in the downstairs bathroom. Rat poison on a shelf behind curtains. The windows and door had dirt and cobwebs in and on them. We left within an hour and paid for a hotel. We tent camp so we aren’t opposed to roughing it but we rented a house on a lake and we expected it to be as pictured.
It was 5 adults (one female) and it was a perfect fit, comfortably. This property is described perfectly online and the photos give a true representation of the property. If you’re looking for a 5 star elite property, this is not for you. It’s clean, practical and since it doesn’t have fancy furniture/flooring. It did the job perfectly for our group. We spent time fishing at the dock at the house and also drove to other spots. It’s only 20 minutes from Bolle’s Harbor and about 25 from Luna Pier (great fishing). We drove an hour to Lake St Clair. For the affordable price, if you’re looking for a place to lay your head and enjoy the quiet peaceful ambiance of the water; it’s right up your alley! There were no bugs, no problems and everything inside the house is clean. Owner has lots of kayaks for you to use along with seats and paddles in the garage. We would come back! Very nice owner that was always quick to respond.
This property was unique, located on Swan Creek, we now know why its called such.... beautiful swans right out the back door! My kis enjoyed the Kayaks and fishing. It was a cool drive as you wind your way back to the house with the houses with well kept lawns. More of a place to stay on a fishing trip, but I dont have any complaints. We made good memories, grilled some good food, slept well and a warm shower. Amazing view of lake Erie! We gave 4 stars, a touch cleaner and id do 5. Enjoyed our stay, host was prompt and polite! Thanks Steven!
If the weather hadn't been mediocre, this would be a great place to stay. Plenty of space. Dock was sturdy. View was fantastic. It is a little old, with some updates. Great value for the price.

Dirty
Stayed here to fish Detroit River and Erie and the only positives were easy check in and a dock for our boat. The kitchen was disgusting it had dirty dishes and pans put back in the cabinets. Dirty dishes left in the dishwasher. Old food in cabinets. Ants all over the kitchen and roaches in the drawers and cabinet. Shower door was broken. I did send a message to host expressing my concerns but heard nothing. The parking with trailer was horrible the only way to turn around was to go on the neighbors yard. I have stayed at a lot of places fishing all over and this was one of the worst.

Dirty, unmaintained, rundown property
This is by far the dirtiest, unmaintained, VRBO property I've stayed at in the last 10 years. I thought VRBO had standards on the properties they list. If they do, this one slipped thru the cracks. I'm so glad the wives did not come on this trip.
Very dirty and poor upkeep, lots of safety issues and not well maintained.
Poor cooking items, cob webs all over the place, no hand soaps, 3 roll of tp for 6 guest for the week stay, lots of dust on item ceiling fans above table covered in dust, kitchen table was filthy paper plate stuck to table, broken item through out the home. Lots of burnt out light bulbs, poorly maintained.
My family had a fantastic time during our stay at the property. We loved sitting outside at the picnic table, lounging on the floating dock, and exploring the lake in the kayaks.
