We had a lovely time at the newly refurbished Whaler. Everything was new and felt great. Excellent in-room amenities: large coffee station, real glasses (not plastic), lovely table and chairs for in-room relaxing, great balconies for staring at the ocean. The only two issues: no artwork on the walls yet. And the construction crew on the expansion started too early one morning (earlier than the 8:00 start described). But the hotel made an adjustment to address that issue - which was very reasonable. Would highly recommend for a nice relaxing and super ocean-accessible trip.

The hotel staff was super friendly and efficient. The room was clean and very nice. I had everything I needed, including a fan for white noise at night. I normally would leave the slider open at night and hear the ocean, but I was on the main floor and didn’t feel comfortable leaving it open. The views were amazing! Great little patio and very quick walk across the streetto the beach. Construction going on was a little loud and distracting as we were only a few doors down from. It’ll be nice when they’re done to have it quiet and also have the lobby open. I’m not sure if the rate I received was reflective of the current construction and status of the hotel as it wasn’t super cheap! I would recommend this place though.

The hotel has been going through a renovation, and they have done a good job. Since we requested a king size bed, the room has only partial ocean view. However, most of the rooms have ocean-front view. We saw whales during our walks outside of the hotel. There are many good points about the hotel, clean, friendly staff, and close to Nye Beach where local restaurants and shops are located. The only complain I have is the room AC is a wall unit (I was told that only few rooms have AC units) and the light from the AC really disturbed my sleep as I need a dark room.

These folks have got it figured out, they deliver a clean & cheery room where all the amenities work as they should. Enjoyed everything about our stay right down to the bag of car candy on our departure. Would recommend to everyone!

Beautiful location and newly remodeled overlooking the ocean. Very quiet, comfortable and nice property. Close to Nye Beach food and shopping and quick drive to the pier for great restaurants too. Loved it!

WE RESERVED A ROOM WITH A BATHTUB BUT WE GOT ONE WITH ONLY SHOWER. 1ST. NIGHT WAS AWEFUL BECAUSE SOME ONE WAS HAVING A HUGE AND LOUD PARTY 2 FLOORS BELOW US STARTED AROUND 10PM TILL 4AM IN THE MORNING . CALLED THE FRONT DESK TO REPORT AND COMPLAIN . I.M NOT EVEN SURE IF THE HOTEL EMPLOYEE CALLED THEM,TALKED TO THEM. IN MY OPINION THEY SHOULD HAVE CALLED THE POLICE BECAUSE THIS KIND BEHAVEYOUR ARE NOT ACCEPTIBLE IN A VACATION SPOT AND HOTEL.

We had a great stay at the Whaler. We received a message that there was construction going on that might be a bit noisy, I appreciated that but it didn’t bother us at all. The staff was wonderful and so helpful and friendly. We loved the basket of Oregon snacks and bottles of water that were placed in our room, exceptional! Can’t wait to go back!

This hotel and the staff were amazing. My husband and I had just left a hotel that was so horrible we honestly just wanted to call it a day and go home until we got to this hotel. We both instantly fell in love. We were doing a trip up the coast and this was supposed to be our second stop but after seeing how nice the room was and how great the staff was we decided to stay the rest of our vacation. The staff was very nice and extended our stay, on a holiday weekend, at the cost we were originally paying. I can go on and on about how amazing this hotel is but what I will say is, I will ONLY stay at this hotel when I go to Newport!

i went to the office to find out where i could smoke on the property! night clerk was very disrespectful! i was told as a smoker i would have to go out to the road to have a smoke !Later that evening i did that and she came out of her office and told me to move over to the next road as there was a food truck in the parking lot and i needed to move down the block away from the propane ! Note !this was 11:00 at night ! food truck was there to serve breakfast sandwiches ! no propane tanks were on ! The requested location. was across the street on a public road ! i felt extremely vulnerable with the foot traffic in the area!
