Cozy Lakefront Cottage on Sacheen Lake
Enjoy your stay at The Fishtails Cottage, our lakefront home and your tranquil respite for lake loving families. The cottage, surrounded by cedar trees, has direct access to your own private beach and dock. The 1400sf home was built in 1950 with its charming knotty pine interior throughout and tag-sale treasured furnishings. Slip off your shoes and enjoy the hardwood floors in your comfy slippers.
Our 1 bedroom 1 bathroom cottage sleeps 4-6; 1 queen bed in the main bedroom upstairs and 1 queen futon and 2 twin beds on the lower level. One full bathroom on the main floor. There is a television and a seating area downstairs along with a library of books and a few games. The lower level can be accessed by a narrow spiral staircase inside or outside access door.
The cottage offers essential supplies for the first 24 hours, including toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, coffee and tea, hand soap, bar soap and dishwashing soap. Guests are responsible for purchasing additional supplies during their stay. All linens are provided, including beach towels. We are on a well and the water is safe for drinking.
We have a SmartTv on the lower level.
Lounge on the deck, prepare your meals in the well equipped kitchen or the outdoor gas bbq. Fish the lake for trout and bass, hike, swim, read or nap under the trees, listen to music, meditate or watch the osprey and eagles fly overhead. Beautiful breathtaking sunsets or stargazing can be enjoyed from the dock or deck offering panoramic views. Nearby golf courses as well as shopping, antique stores, farmers market, live theatre, pow-wow grounds and wellness center in the area.
Be prepared for the cottage to be warm/hot in the summer with afternoon sunshine. There is a portable AC unit upstairs and fan that keeps the downstairs area cool. In the cooler months, we have a small wood stove upstairs and portable heater downstairs.
There are 2 kayaks available to you. Life preservers should be used for kayaks and boat. A few preservers are available during your stay to use. Additional vests can be borrowed and returned to the boat launch at the public access.
NO lifeguard on duty. Please watch your little ones, the water is deep. Use of beach, dock and recreation equipment is done at your own risk. Lake levels fluctuate from high to low. There will be natural growth and rocks along the lake bank. Caution should be advised accessing the lake.

We stayed at this property for our 20th anniversary. The setting and lake were gorgeous! From the outstanding deck, to the comfortable bed and linens, to the very well stocked kitchen, we had everything we needed for the perfect, cozy getaway.I highly recommend this property!
We had a fabulous wekend at Fishtails Cottage. The hosts did a great job of making sure we had everything we could need. The cottage was clean, comfy & cozy. The setting was stunning. We were able to enjoy the kayaks & rowboat. Had a lovely bbq on the deck with family & watched fireworks being set off all around the lake. We will be back again for sure!
We truly didn’t want to leave! We came to town for a family reunion and chose to stay at the cottage—and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. The place was spotless, stocked with everything we could possibly need, plus thoughtful extra goodies from our wonderful host. Evenings on the deck were magical, watching the sun melt into the horizon. One morning, we were treated to the sight of a family of otters playing—it was pure joy! We’re already hoping to return before summer ends, this time with our sons. We’re so grateful to have discovered a place that not only meets but exceeds our expectations
What a gorgeous place this is! We had the most relaxing time and loved every bit of this cozy cabin in the woods. You clearly put so much thought and effort into creating a restful and inviting space. The bed was super comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook a full meal. I appreciate all the little touches around the cabin, the blankets, the lights, the coffee and the little welcome kit, the super nice lotion, lovely linens and towels, made it all so very special. It was spotlessly clean and had a fresh welcoming feel. Thank you for being such a gracious host. Everything was seamless and welcoming. Will be back soon! Sandra & Andy
What a find. My partner and I spent three nights in mid August. Talk about an undersell! The pictures and property description while accurate, simply do not capture the charm and warmth of this cabin. It was so homey, and comfortable. It reminded me of the cabins of my youth. It was everything a lake cabin should be. I've stayed in many rentals over the years that felt like a downtown loft or suburban home transplanted to a lake - so much subway tile and greige. The vibe of Meg and Wes' cabin is warm and full of character. The art and furnishing are *chef's kiss*.The kitchen was extremely well stocked, you could cook just about any meal here. The beds were comfy and the deck felt like an outdoor living room with an unobstructed view of beautiful Sacheen Lake instead of a television. The lake itself was quiet and peaceful. I have no doubt that I will book again. This was a stellar booking and two wonderful, communicative, and helpful hosts to boot!
