About this property

Storybook Forest Cottage w/Loft, Hot Tub + Sauna Access by Blue Ridge Parkway

  • A Storybook Cottage in the Forest

Follow a softly lit, lantern-lined path beneath the trees to Hemlock, an off-grid micro-sleeping cottage tucked into the forest at Wildhaven, our private 30-acre farm + forest retreat directly across from the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Sleep in a cozy queen loft beneath the tree canopy, open both cottage doors to the sound of the nearby creek, and spend evenings around your private fire pit. Just beyond the trees, you'll have access to Wildhaven's hot tub, Sauna in the Wild, spring-fed cold-plunge pond, bathhouse + outdoor kitchen.

    HEMLOCK AT A GLANCE

    • Queen sleeping loft with quality linens
    • Battery-powered lighting + fans
    • Portable power station for charging devices
    • Coffee station
    • Cozy downstairs sitting area + games
    • Private fire pit with over-fire cooking grate
    • Private outdoor seating + nearby creek
    • Two complete private bathrooms in our nearby bathhouse
    • Shared outdoor kitchen for preparing meals
    • Hot tub + Sauna in the Wild access
    • Spring-fed cold-plunge pond + swim platform
    • Wi-Fi available in Wildhaven's central areas

    A LITTLE DIFFERENT BY DESIGN

Hemlock is intentionally off-grid and intentionally small. There is no bathroom or kitchen inside the cottage itself—and that's part of what makes staying here different.

We've put the comforts where we think they matter: a real queen bed, quality linens, heating and cooling, warm lighting, fans, a coffee station and portable power for charging your devices.

Just a short walk away, Wildhaven's new bathhouse has two complete private bathrooms with hot showers, plus a shared spa room and laundry. Our outdoor kitchen provides a proper place to prepare meals, or stay close to Hemlock and cook dinner over your own private fire pit.

It's off-grid without feeling primitive—a little less stuff and a lot more forest, creek, fire and fresh mountain air.

WILDHAVEN IS PART OF THE STAY

Hemlock is one of just three overnight stays spread across Wildhaven's 30 acres. Each has its own private area, while guests share a handful of special spaces around the property—giving you privacy when you want it without feeling completely isolated.

Our Nordic + Icelandic-inspired wellness spaces include the Sauna in the Wild, hot tub and spring-fed cold-plunge pond with swim platform. You'll also find forest paths, creeks, gardens, pond, gathering spaces and the Wildling creative studio + farm shop when open.

Warm up. Get cold. Soak awhile. Build a fire. Wander without much of a destination.

    Or all of the above.

RIGHT ACROSS FROM THE BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY

Wildhaven sits directly across from the Blue Ridge Parkway and less than 10 minutes from Linville Falls, with Grandfather Mountain, Banner Elk, waterfalls, hiking, cycling and mountain towns within easy reach.

Spend your day exploring the High Country, then leave the car behind and follow the lanterns back through the trees to Hemlock.

    IS HEMLOCK RIGHT FOR YOU?

Hemlock is for guests who like their mountain stays a little less conventional. You'll walk a short forest path from the parking area, climb stairs to reach your queen sleeping loft, use a beautiful bathhouse rather than an interior bathroom, and spend more of your stay outdoors than you might in a traditional cabin.

If the idea of falling asleep tucked beneath the trees, waking to the sound of a creek and ending the day around a fire sounds better than another oversized vacation house, Hemlock may be exactly what you're looking for.
