Perfect Cottage
We fully enjoyed our stay at Sitting Bear cottage. It was super clean and perfectly outfitted for us to enjoy the fall leaves with family. Wonderful location surrounded by nature and close proximity to wonderful trails, sights and food.
Looking forward to many future stays at this and other Flying Squirrel Cottages!
We had a wonderful stay at Sitting Bear Cottage! It was a very comfortable stay and great for our family with small children. The location was great and we even enjoyed a few inches of snow. I would stay at this cottage again!
Quiet and peaceful within easy commute to everything the area has to offer. The cottage is well-appointed and comfortable. The GSD (dog) especially loved the visit!
Okay there were a few things that could be changed
The stove every time I tried to cook something the smoke alarm would go off . Also the bathroom in the master bedroom. You can barely get in the bathroom.
Also refrigerator is in the basement But overall it was good.
Thank you April
This house was an excellent basecamp for a group of friends looking to explore the Linville Gorge area over a few days. The house is very cute & located in a beautiful neighborhood just a couple miles from many of the trails in Linville Gorge. Everything was clean & well ordered and the check-in/check-out process was straightforward. Highly recommend!
The cottage was perfect for us. There is a nice trail not far from the house. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub each day after several wilderness hikes. Beds were comfortable and kitchen nicely equipped.
We enjoyed our time at Sitting Bear cabin. It had everything we needed plus a great location. It is close to many great hikes. We cooked most of our meals during our stay, and the kitchen was well supplied. We enjoyed the large fire pit. The hot tub was great. Very clean. We would definitely return for a future stay at this cabin.
Cleanliness was not thorough. Spilled food in the refrigerator, dried food on the oven mittens. Shams were ripped on queen bed, and the sheets are very poor quality, we had to go out and buy sheets. Grass was very long, couch was VERY uncomfortable. It caused neck pain. The shower in the master bed is very poorly designed and makes showering uncomfortable and awkward, as well as the toilet room.
The main reason why we will not return to this property is because a snake came into the house thru the fireplace, while we were relaxing one evening. I immediately notified the owner and as of yet I have not received a reply.
The cabin is dog friendly, WiFi is good, and the property manager did respond quickly to any questions I had. However, the owners never addressed or apologized for the snake incident.
My mom is extremely scared of snakes so the experience with the snake put a huge damper on our trip.
I can’t recommend this property due to the lack of being throughly clean (attention to details) and having a snake come into the house.
The cabin was lovely. A great location to many nearby attractions. Cabin was spacey with a well stocked kitchen and plenty of hot water for bathing. We enjoyed the rustic surrounds and large yard space with fire pit. Beds were comfortable and living area was spacious. Easy check in and check out.
We had a wonderful time. Loved the privacy. Hot tub was great and we enjoyed the fireplace and the outdoor fire pit. We would definitely come
back here again.
One of the only places that welcomed our dogs, which for us is like our children.Loved every moment we were there, property was perfect in every way,Thank you
