    We’re Don and Tammy Murphy, your hosts. In 2021, we fell in love with this charming (run down) property and began a four-year renovation journey to restore the original 1947 home and transform the surrounding wooded acreage into a scenic, sunset-filled escape.

    It’s been a true labor of love, and we were thrilled to begin welcoming guests in May 2025. We’ve poured our hearts into every detail to create a peaceful, cozy, and well-appointed getaway for families, couples, and friends alike.

    We hope you enjoy the tranquility, natural beauty, and thoughtful touches throughout the home, and that your stay here becomes one to remember.

We traveled with our two children and their families for the Army - USF football game. There was plenty of room for the 6 adults and 4 children. The grandchildren really enjoyed the kayaks, paddle board, and paddle boat. We also enjoyed the gas grill, fire pit, and gazebo by the lake. The house was well equipped and I would recommend checking it out before you go shopping as we bought things we didn’t need because they were provided. We don’t travel to this area very often but there’s no doubt where we would choose to stay in the future.

This was one of the best VRBO stays I've ever had. Don was extremely responsive and flexible. The house was hands-down the cleanest inside that I've ever rented. The beds were very comfortable and the house size and layout were great for our group. We would love to book again.

This home is fantastic. Plenty of beds, beautiful kitchen with what you need, and space to entertain and enjoy time away. The back yard that leads to the firepit and lake is awesome. Glad we got the chance to spend a weekend here

Relaxing lakefront staycation!

We had a lovely relaxing stay at Don and Tammy's home. It was spacious, well maintained and perfectly equipped, and a short walk to the lake. We enjoyed a bit of kayaking, grilling and even sat in the pretty lighted gazebo enjoying the night sky. The hosts were very communicative and took great care of our needs. Great place to spend quality time with family and friends!

Our family had the best time at Don’s lake house. The grounds are amazing with lakefront access. The fire pit and gazebo were big hits. Don was super communicative and answered any questions we had. There was plenty of room for our whole family and we can’t to return.

We had a fantastic stay! It was great having 5 bedrooms and especially a bedroom and bathroom on the main floor for my elderly mom. The living areas were comfortable for hanging out or playing games. The kitchen had plenty of room for cooking together. We had a few small issues, which Don was very helpful with, but overall the house was lovely and perfect for our group. We loved sitting in the pergola by the lake, relaxing, and watching the resident bald eagle (who landed right in a tree on the property!). We also enjoyed coffee time on the back deck most mornings. There isn’t really a swimming beach, but we had so much fun kayaking around the lake every day - there’s one large kayak and one SUP, and the rest are smaller kayaks fit for kids or smaller adults. It’s a long, gentle sloping lawn from the house to the lake; for someone with mobility issues a scooter can be very helpful.The lake is quiet and peaceful. The house is at the far end of the lake houses, with lots of privacy and a large waterfront. Also, a great restaurant just down the street right on the lake. We enjoyed our stay!

Overall a very positive experience. The property matched the description quite well. We truly enjoyed sitting near lake watching wildlife. My daughter paddle boarded two mornings around the entire lake. Loved seeing the beaver dam and all the birds. Really liked the feeling of being out in the country, but also appreciated being close enough to everything if we wanted. Thanks for the stay!
