This was a very convenient location for us as our family lives only 1 block away. The space met our needs. While it is clean, it could use a deep cleaning. Also we were surprised to find, as far as we could tell, that the apartment was heated with space heaters. However, we were quite comfortable temperature-wise. It is a good space to use as a base point, but not a space that is super comfortable for lounging or hanging out. The convenience to the trains is very nice.
This was a great place to crash while visiting the city! We had four people, and it worked out perfectly with comfortable beds and a spacious dining and lounging area. This place is in a quiet area of Harlem near plenty of wonderful food options and the subway.
A cute little brownstone with everything you need for exploring the city. Great access to the subway system, with nearby amenities for quick meals before setting out. Surprisingly spacious in a clean and safe neighborhood. Communication with the owners was efficient and polite. Will definitely stay here again!
It's NYC, so basically we slept here and ate a small breakfast. It's not renovated perfectly, but hey it works. Close to the subway and in a pretty quiet street. No problems.
Excellent price-performance-ratio. For us, while we were visiting New York City, it was the best place to stay in. It is a really big apartment and with two teenager we were lucky to have two seperate rooms plus the living room.
You really have the feeling to "come home", after a busy day in Manhattan. It is a place to calm down and to see a different facet of New York City. Absolutely recommendable. The owners are super friendly and always available for your needs!
The area was quiet for the most part. Subway is literally just down the street. Very easy to get to. Walked, of course, everywhere. It’s was good for us as we were gone most of the time during the day. Mostly quiet neighborhood. Main bed has a dip in the middle of it.

Advantages & the not-so-good
We recommend because …1. Location 2. Cleanliness 3. Never heard the neighbours 4. Big place for NYC 5. Affordable : good value for money —-The not so good : got the wrong code to get in & it took 30 min to solve with the help of VRBO . Double check the day before you arrive . It says it was renovated but not the bathroom! Windows don’t shut properly: bring earplugs . We asked for extra blankets as they have the weirdest and noisiest heating system: over heats in the morning and especially evening and then shuts down during the night, but we never got them. —(It has been 14 days since we left the place in perfect state and VRBO has just returned the deposit. Be patient !)
The apartment was very quiet which is really nice after the hustle of NYC. It is very close to the subway lines and other conveniences. The bed in in the larger room was terrible! It sagged in the middle to such a point that you had a hard time getting out of it. For two people…it was what we would call a deep valley. There really was no comfortable furniture to just lounge on. The TV is in the kitchen area which is probably not used much anyway since you aren’t in NYC to watch TV but it does give you an idea of furniture. There was a futon like couch in what would be the living room but it was made up to be used as a bed. Still it was clean, quiet, very secure and a reasonable price for a two bedroom.

Great location, could use some upgrades
I would have rated this unit 3.5 stars if that was an option.
Pros: The location is great. The neighborhood feels safe, the building is secure, there is tons of great food within walking distance, and there are several different subway lines within walking distance. (Side note: highly recommend using the MTA app when riding the subway.) The unit was fairly clean when we arrived. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean and the sheets and towels were clean. The instructions provided by the owner before we arrived were very clear and helpful. Getting into the unit was very easy.
Things that could use improvement: There were two coffee pots, neither of which worked correctly. There were no wine glasses as shown in one of the pictures. The place is dusty. There are layers of dust on the wood trim and other areas. Our family did a lot of sneezing while in the unit. The towels and sheets have a strong smell of fragrance. The owner never responded to any of my emails. The windows must not be well insulated because we could hear a lot of street noise in the unit, all night long. The blinds in the kitchen don’t work at all and the curtains are sheer. The master bed is not really suitable for two adults. It has a large dip in the middle. The pillows are cheap and uncomfortable.
Other notes: The shower does take about 2-3 minutes to get warm but we never ran out of hot water, even with four showers back to back. The second double bed and pull out couch are decent.

Traveled with family, and was a great place for our stay in New York. Close to subway station. Would book again.
Good sized property, two full bedrooms plus futon sofa. Well equipped kitchen. All as advertised and clean and well maintained. Great base for a longer stay to really explore NYC.
We spent a week in NYC, staying at this top-floor apartment in Upper Manhattan / Harlem. The apartment is situated 5 minutes walk from 135 St subway station, which offers direct route to Central Park and Times Square - about 10 to 20 minutes. The trains are frequent. You can also take a bus downtown, or if the weather is good, walk down Malcolm X Blvd to Central Park - about 40 minutes. The local area offers plenty of amenities, though we spent most of our time downtown visiting the main tourist attractions. The apartment is fairly well equipped, and relatively spacious. The shower takes maybe 2 minutes to warm up, but once warm, there is no shortage of warm water. Overall, we felt the property offered good value for money.
We were in NYC visiting family and had a great stay! We very pleased with the place and location. Easy walk to subway and everything else Harlem and Manhattan has to offer. Building is safe and clean. Hosts were always super responsive.
Patrick and Patricia were perfect hosts, we could reach them without problems and the Appartement was perfect. Enjoyed getting to know a different neighborhood in Manhattan.
I travel to NYC often. This was my first time staying in Harlem. I enjoyed it tremendously. The apartment easily accommodated our group of three adults. It is nicely situated between subway and bus lines. Convenience and grocery stores are an easy walk away. The neighborhood is clearly in transition. Avenues are bright and bustling, side street somewhat dark but we always felt safe. The property managers were very prompt in response to questions. My only recommendation to them is to equip the kitchen better (pots, pans, etc.) and consider installing a security bar in shower.
Positives: This property is near the subway and bus lines, making it really easy to explore NYC. The flat was clean, accessible, and functional.
Cons: the radiator in the bathroom leaks onto the floor and wall, the wifi was difficult to connect, no hand soap available for tenants because of insurance seems off, the shower head sprays wide and makes a mist, no extra trash bags since the onus of taking out the trash is on the tenant, and the bed frame is worn and dips in the middle.
Overall: this flat is one of the better vacation rentals I've experienced in the Harlem area and would definitely consider staying here again.
