With a stunning collection of 79 mounted animals on its natural wood walls, this secluded New Meadows cabin offers all the hunting inspiration you'll ever need. You'll be surrounded by wonders of the great outdoors as you sit outside on the deck, gather around the firepit as dinner sizzles away on the grill, and curl up in the living room to watch a movie or two with your favorite warm beverage.

This tranquil piece of property sits less than a mile south of Zims Hot Springs, where you'll find hot pools, arcade games, and a light snack bar. You'll also be just three miles north of the MeadowCreek Golf Resort, and 13 miles south of fresh fruit, vegetables, honey, jams, and more at Mountain Roots Orchard. In the winter, the skiers in your family can hit the slopes of Brundage Mountain 16 miles east; in the summer, you can take a guided fishing trip on the Salmon River with Big River Outfitters 18 miles north.

Great house for hunters or others interested in trophy animals
We enjoyed the house very much. Loved the animals on display. However, the carpets were not vacuumed when we arrived and I had to do it. I also had to get towels from the dryer and fold them and put them away in the bathrooms. I was in contact with the check in staff for VRBO for both cleaning and general and still have not heard from anyone to resolve the issue about my needing to do this work. This was not the fault of the house owners and we loved the house.

Quiet cabin in the woods
The views out all the windows are trees. The cabin had everything we needed for our stay, and we had a relaxing stay. We really enjoyed the close proximity to the hot springs too.

Unique home Quiet Spacious yet Cozy
First time renting a vacation home. Needed a place for family on short notice, inflexible timeline and location. Online booking was easy. Very limited cell phone service in the area made communication with property management challenging.

Hunters dream
We booked this cabin for a Snowmobiling, New Years getaway with our kids. Unfortunately we were fairly disappointed with our overall experience in several aspects. Upon arrival we discovered the cabin was NOT equipped to “sleep 10”, unless one couple wanted to sleep in a very creepy room in the garage! (Which appeared was not even cleaned up from last party’s stay, as bed was definitely in disarray) Originally we picked this cabin because the description states “sleeps10”. Luckily our group ended up with only 6 adults, & two teens, who were able to utilize ONE of the tattered, broken down futons in the loft area. Secondly, the day we were due to arrive we got an email that the pellet stove wasn’t working. With single digit temps this would have been nice to have after a very cold day of snowmobiling. Although, the master bedroom was extremely HOT the entire stay & we had to leave a window cracked at all times!! Thirdly, the snow to walk ways, & or driveway wasn’t shoveled or clear upon our arrival Though, a maintenance guy did show up later in day to do this, & plowed driveway once afterwards. After our FIRST night we were out of paper towels/tp & had to call vacasa to come restock. The 2nd day, the toilet handle in upstairs bath broke & had to get someone out to fix it. Plus bath sink in master was badly clogged, but we just dealt with it. Linens were old, & very minimal. In summary, the OVERALL feel & impression of the cabin was old, & worn. “RUSTIC” is ok in some aspects, but not when it comes to paying premium rental fees, you expect top notch necessities to be provided. As an owner, who is expecting to receive top dollar for a rental, accommodations, basic services and general “comforts” should be provided. On the contrary, we felt several aspects were lacking in regards all of the mentioned concerns. One could look past the dated, “RUSTIC” feel of this cabin, IF other items were in working, premium conditions. A few basic updates in furniture, sleeping accommodations, linens & services provided would definitely have made this a more pleasurable experience. The positive was we were with family, & enjoyed our time together. We just had to make quite a few adjustments in regards to the negative aspects, to create a doable trip, with the lack of accommodations provided. We will visit MCCALL again, but will not be booking these accommodations, nor would we recommend it to anyone. B Morgan

This stay was a series of disasters. Day one no pellets for stove, no Ice melt, day two was almost a fire, all inside Avery poorly cleaned home. So disappointed.

The house was beautiful inside. The landscape outside was an eye sore. Also, the house wasn’t as clean as I expected it to be. The floor wasn’t swept, the counters weren’t wiped, carpet wasn’t vacuumed. The mounts were amazing. Without the mounts this place really wasn’t worth the price paid per night.

Rest and relaxation
Arrival was easy. It was difficult to find the door into the cabin. Lots of stairs that were blocks on a slant and the more stairs up to the patio/entry. Hard for a handicapped member of our party. Barbecue is rusted out and non functional and we brought items to barbecue. Both skillets are non stick but so worn the pancakes stuck. TV not functioning but had a great supply of movies once we found them in the mater bedroom. Broken bottles of glass around the fire pit and at the back of the home a screen is pulled 1/2 way out. With all of these issues it is very quiet and the taxidermy animals are very beautiful.
