It was an easy walk to the beach, restaurants, and shops. Everything was nice and clean. My kids enjoyed seeing the train go by, and the chair swing in the backyard.
As advertised. My kids drove in from Chicago and said they would stay again. Amtrak behind the house didn't bother us at all.
You can definitely walk everywhere.
Everything was great. Great location, walked to everything. Property was clean and most everything needed for the stay was provided. We had 2 adults, 2 16 yo & 3 11 yo and everyone was comfortable. No complaints, it was just what we needed, would definitely stay again. Thank you to Third Coast!
Delightful and conveniently located cottage plus mother-in-law unit. Perfect for our family 5 day vacation pre-larger family reunion in Chicago. Beachtime twice daily with the grandkids.. when they got up and then evening when the weather cooled and the sunlight was golden! We enjoyed the firepit, making s'mores and watching fireflies. We took side midday adventures to Warren Dunes State Park, picked blueberries at a nearby farm, explored the cute downtown area, splashpool and walked everywhere...and found lots of yummy ice cream! We preferred slower activities from Sunday evening through Thursday departure. Saturday and especially tge evening was young folks-celebrating very exuberantly.
Overall we rated this cottage with 4 stars. The location was great.
It was well equipped for everything we wanted or needed. The high table and chairs in the kitchen were difficult to get in and out of. The main bathroom door constantly needing to be propped open was annoying.
There is no way this property could ever get a 5 star rating being this close to the railroad tracks. The train going by so close was scary for our 1.5 year old grandson.
I was very impressed with this property. Some notable strengths include: the ease of communication with the property managers before check-in, the seamless nature of check-in, and the welcoming nature of the home upon entry. The house was clean, well-organized, and made for a sweet first day in New Buffalo. The house is close to nearly everything - a short walk away. I was thrilled to not have to hustle for parking when going to downtown New Buffalo on a busy weekend night. I loved the amenities within the home and the attention to detail. They had taken extra steps to ensure a comfortable stay. We enjoyed making meals at home and had nearly everything we could ask for stocked in the kitchen. There were plentiful cleaning tools in the home to sweep and vacuum sand/dirt tracked in from the beach. The outdoor area was stocked with sand toys for the nearby beach, and there was a hose for getting cleaned up afterward. We loved the swing and being able to sit outside in the nice weather. My dad (grandpa) loved the guest house and being "king of the castle" for a week.
Some areas of opportunity include: taking a moment to clean little nooks and crannies (inside and under the sofa, under the bed), stocking a blender, and perhaps placing a white noise machine in each room to drown out loud train noise for sensitive sleepers. I felt like I was making myself right at home in the rental and plan to bring my entire family back next year!
4th of July weekend was perfect at our VRBO. The location was so close to everything. The Amtrak behind was never late at night. We had so much space. We would definitely stay there again!
This was a very lovely home conveniently located near downtown New Buffalo. It had everything we needed. It was perfect for the 6 of us. Would definitely go back.
Cozy, beautiful, well maintained, and great location. Our family of five was looking for a final vacation spot before sending our oldest to college, and this house checked all the boxes. The communication with, and accessibility of the management company was fantastic. The house was super clean and had all the amenities, including beach chairs, a beach umbrella, plenty of beach towels, and a fully stocked kitchen, including a handy single-serve Keurig to go along with the traditional drip coffee maker. My wife and I were able to enjoy some peace and quiet in the guest house and let our three teenage boys hole-up in the main house. We could walk to everything in town (food, shopping, the beach), and took full advantage. Wonderful place that our family hopes to come back to.
house was clean. Fair bit of small damages throughout the house; this compelled me to photograph these issues as soon as we walked in the door. (broken closet doors in the master, broken wall shelves in master closet. major scuffs on the wall from bookcases and furniture).
This property has everything you need! Fully equipped kitchen and plenty of sleeping space for family. The location is perfect being just a couple blocks from the main street where there are many shops and restaurants. You will not be disappointed. There is an Amtrack that runs through town and this house is right behind the track. This was no issue for us, but it comes through a few times a day (latest we heard was 1030pm). Third Coast was incredible and I would not hesitate to rent from them in the future!
The place was very clean and the decor and setup was nice. I am not durecif the dryer heat worked or not so this may need looked at.
It had all the amenities needed including lots of kitchen appliances and beach towels.
3 of us booked the Lake Escape for a quick girls trip weekend. The house was super cute! The guest house was also adorable. We were a 5min walk from the Stray Dog. Pretty much walking distance to everything in the downtown area, and just a short drive to The Round Barn and Ghost Isle. We would definitely stay with Third Coast again!
Girls' weekend was comfortable and relaxed and in easy walking distance to the main strip. The kitchen is well-outfitted and couches and beds were good for lounging. Unfortunately, we encountered numerous issues including no water in the coach house, then just no water in that shower (which defeated the plan of us all having our own bathrooms), pilot lights out on the grill, and for almost 24 hours no hot water anywhere. That being said, in every case, the landlord company was quick to send maintenance people and provide options, and communication was prompt.
Great spot for beach bumming and exploring near by areas. The four of us (41,42 5 & 3) stayed in the main house, while grandparents enjoyed the separate space. Not a lot of room, but if your sleeping, heading to the beach, showering, and heading back out. Is a great spot. Easy walk to almost all of the New Buffalo eateries, breweries and attractions.
Right on the Amtrack line. Only heard 3 trains per day (Thursday-Sunday). Which worked out since our 3year old lives trains. Latest train comes by around 10:30. Never write the kids up.
Supplied beach towels and consumables were greatly appreciated. There was a French press, Keurig, dishwasher pods, laundry pods, popcorn and welcome bag.
