Gruene River Haven - High & Dry On The River

The Gruene River Haven sleeps 22 and is a fantastic location to experience all that the New Braunfels and Gruene area have to offer. Situated directly on the Guadalupe River with 150 feet of river frontage it is the perfect location for family reunions, corporate events, small intimate weddings or any group gathering. Along the riverfront there are huge ancient cypress trees towering over a private floating river dock perfect for toobing, kayaking, or fishing. The grounds consist of covered and shaded patios surrounded by large pecan and oak trees, a large fire pit area and a lush green lawn leading down to the river. On the patio there is a 55" large screen outdoor smart TV, bluetooth enabled sound bar, propane fired BBQ grill, charcoal/wood smoker, propane fired fire table, hot weather outdoor fan and a cold weather propane fired patio heater. Also, there is a 12 foot long outdoor cedar plank "Star Bar" perfect for summer time toober people watching. Toobs and kayaks are available for guest use. There is a Saluspa Hot Tub on an outdoor deck available with a $20 preparation fee. The house is a cozy setting with virtually every room in the house having an amazing view of the Guadalupe River. 9 bedrooms give everyone the privacy they need while still sleeping 22 comfortably. There are smart TVs in every bedroom, living room and patio with cable. There is a dining room and breakfast dining area perfect for large holiday meals. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, utensils and cooking essentials. There is a high chair and pack n play available.

Pets are generally not allowed but exceptions can be made for one maybe two pets under 50 lbs. You must request owner permission, sign a pet waiver and pay $50/day per pet fee/deposit before arrival.

There is a vacation rental RV on a secluded part of the property at the top of a hill away from the main house which we rent separately and may have guests staying in it during your stay.

The RV mentioned above can be made available to rent in addition to the main house for larger groups. With the RV rented in addition to the main house there is sleeping space for 26 and room to park 15 vehicles. Please contact us for details.

It is possible that during daylight hours only we will need to launch toobers and kayakers from the river dock during your stay. These will be guests staying at our other properties.

Best weekend ever!

We loved staying here so much! We had about 20 college students and it was great, we definitely want to come back. Tons of room to spread out and the best outdoor space you could ask for. Great location too, only a 20 minute walk from Gruene Hall.

River resort

All of our friends/family want to go back! It's a really cool old house by the river with plenty of space for yard games. Plus having the river right there with so many kayaks and tubes to use is a huge plus to the property. The owners are super nice as well.

Great Time

What a great home! The setting is perfect, the water is pristine and the Cypress trees are huge. The shaded back yard is 10 degrees cooler than in the sun, plenty of space for lots of friends. The covered patio (with ceiling fans) was perfect!

Perfect house for multiple families

Glorious Gruene Guad Gathering

Despite room for 22, only 7 of us enjoyed this trip. The house is certainly unique, with lots of rooming options. Everything was clean and tidy. Hosts were very responsive and helpful. The jewel in the crown is the back yard on the river. just a beautiful, serene spot. We will be back, without doubt.

Annual family vacation

Our family enjoyed our stay at Gruene River Haven. We had 14, various ages and interests. They enjoyed the dock, the river and the hot tub. Lots of rooms, sort of quirky vintage but everything was really nice. Beautiful yard with deer visitors.

Wonderful Family Christmas

Our extended family of 15 adults celebrated an early Christmas and were floored at the beautiful view and outdoor space at this property. Although the kitchen is very small, we took turns cooking and there was tons of space to eat, play games, watch TV, and just enjoy spending time together. The view of the river is amazing! Were visited by deer each morning and evening as we hung out on the patio and deck. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms that allowed us to spread out. Very short commute to downtown Gruene for shopping.

Perfect Spot for a Bachelorette!

This was the perfect spot to celebrate a bachelorette party in New Braunfels! We had a group of 18 girls that was able to sleep comfortably on this property. It’s so difficult to find a place where adults can have their own space (not in a bunk room that sleeps 10+ people), and this house delivers! Everyone felt like they got their money’s worth with this stay. The outside area was beautiful and perfect for an outdoor dinner (we did hibachi at the house). We were also so happy there were enough tubes for us to cool off in the river in this Texas heat! We’ll definitely be staying here for our next girls’ trip in New Braunfels!!

Family stayed for wedding which was in Gruene. Look at pictures carefully! House is really not suited for elderly people due to steep stairs, uneven floors, and most bathrooms had shower/tub combo which is hard to get into. Good views from many rooms, well stocked kitchen, 2 refrigerators (but one in kitchen had many cracked shelves), and outdoor space was very nice!

Great location on the river, close to Gruene

We had a group of 15 people for the Wurstfest nearby in New Braunfels. The house had enough bedrooms to accommodate all the couples privately. Kitchen was well stocked, but a little tight. There were also several living areas which allowed us to break into groups. The outside was great, with plenty of covered area which was appreciated due to the rain. The gas heaters were also appreciated. Parking was OK, we got 7 full sized vehicles. Lots of deer roaming the neighborhood, so be careful driving.

Beautiful views, inside a little dated

We were two families with grandma and really enjoyed our stay. The views of the river are spectacular, plenty of rooms and bathrooms for everyone and great river access and equipment that we made the most of. The house is dated inside in terms of appliances and we had an AC leaking problem one night that the owners came over and took care of. Kitchen is very small for the size of the house/people but we enjoyed the nice grill outside. The one thing that would have been good to know that wasn’t in the listing is there is an RV on the property that also has the river access for renters through the same back yard river access. We thought it was private and only were told about this at checkin.

60/40 Celebration

We gathered 14 girl family members to celebrate a sister turning 60 and a daughter turning 40. The Gruene River Haven was the perfect place for this celebration. I can’t say enough about Lynnae and Jeff. They responded immediately to any of my questions prior to our arrival. Their communications were outstanding. I am so thankful that they met us at the house to show us around and aquaint us with the property. The house has ample gathering spots for conversations and fellowship. The kitchen was fully outfitted with dishes enough for all. Linens from beds to towels were lovely. We had a wonderful time and will be talking about it for months to come. Thank you !

50th Anniversary Celebration

We arrived on Sunday afternoon & departed on Friday morning after a week of fun filled activities, ie, both local to the area as well as via the property itself, as they provide river tubes, kayaks, fire pit, hot-tub, bbq pits, plenty of outdoor spaces for visiting, gaming, etc! We had 18 in our party ranging in age from 7-to-72 which this property housed perfectly with 9 bedrooms & 6.5 bathrooms! We cooked indoors & outdoors everyday thus there's 2 refrigerators + all the pots & pans provided and full dishwasher & soap. They also had 2 full-size washers & dryers with soap & dryer sheets! Lynnae & Jeff were great property managers prior to arrival, during and after, as they responded to our requests via email, phone & texts! The property is well located just minutes from downtown Gruene & New Braunfels which both provide great shopping & restaurant opportunities! The house itself has 3 levels with 3 bedrooms on the ground/main level & 4 upstairs & 2 downstairs! Also...there's a tv located outside on the patio as well in all bedrooms & den! They also have a dvd player + movies available in the den! Overall? Great week at the Gruene River Haven!👍👍👍
