Beautifully located, nicely decorated House in the really lovely village of Maro. We loved sitting on the terrace in the morning, while having a coffee as well as watching the sun set in the evenings. A short walk to beautiful Maro Beach. Nice and quiet surroundings. If you want to go to the costa del Sol and try to avoid the crowds, this is the place to be
We loved staying at Zoe and Nigel's house in Maro. The house is a gem, clean with a well supplied kitchen. Maro is cute, quiet village close to Nerja, Frigiliana and other sights. Highly recommend taking the drive east down the coast road (340) to Salobreña. Rivals Big Sur and Hwy 1 in many places. We had a great visit and time.
It was a pleasure to stay here. We enjoyed so much the comfort of this house. Wonderful view of the sea and of Nerja from the terrace. The small village of Maro is really pretty and there is a very nice little store for your daily needs. Zoe is extremely friendly and attentive. The apartment is very tastefully and practically furnished/equipped. Nothing was missing. Thank you very much again. Jan, Lisa & Claudia
Even better than pictures suggests; magical sunset viewing; everything you need and more; great and welcoming hosts. A true hidden gem and already looking forward to the next trip out!
The house has everything you could want for a relaxing holiday, and Zoe & Nigel were very welcoming and couldn't have done more to make our stay enjoyable. Thank you!!
Very nice house in the small village of Maro. Smalls shops and restaurants close by. Beach at 15 minutes walking distance (steep climb back up but absolutely worth it). The house is comfortable and well equipped. We loved our stay, thank you Zoe and Nigel!

February in Spain
A lovely traditional house in an unspoilt Spanish village. A very nice alternative to February in England.

The best vacation while traveling in Spain.
Beautiful home! Zoe was very kind and helpful. La playa de Maro is the best! We loved Maro and Nerja. Thank you so much!!!
We had a fabulous time in this beautiful house in Maro. Zoe and Nigel were delightful and nothing was too much trouble. The house was clean and tastefully furnished, the bed was super comfortable and having the wood burner was just perfect. We can 100% recommend this place. Perfect for our winter break in stunning Andalusia.
We had an amazing time in Maro, in Zoe and Nigel’s wonderful home.
The location is stunningly beautiful, the home clean, well equipped, spacious and comfortable, outdoor and indoor spaces lovely, communication and support from Zoe was so welcoming and generous, and the village is beautiful.
Our visit could not have been better, thank you!
Perfect house in a quiet village close to Nerja, although probably best to take the bus or taxi there in the heat of the day. The nearby beaches a a fair walk down lovely unspoilt lanes and beautiful when you get there. they were quiet in May, but I bet they get busy in the season.
Have just spent 11 nights at this property over Christmas.
Lovely property. Great location to Nerja. Everything you need for a relaxing holiday.
Zoey & Nigel are a great host’s. We had a couple of problems on our stay.
But they were sorted out promptly. Would highly recommend this property.

Comfortable townhouse in a sleepy village
We loved our stay at this comfortable townhouse in sleepy Maro. The property is beautifully and sympathetically restored with a well-equipped kitchen and every modern-day comfort. Being July we were outdoors most of the time; barbecuing in the shady courtyard, or having a sun-downer on the upper terrace while admiring the views over farmland, Nerja and the ocean. There are a handful of good bars and restaurants in the village and we enjoyed exploring the coves to the East; Las Calas del Pino being out favourite (despite the clamber down). Zoe, the owner, was super-helpful. We’ll certainly book more than three nights next time!

Great stay for the holidays
We really enjoyed this lovely, newly renovated home for our 4 day visit to the area. The town of Maro was very sweet and felt quite authentic. We had a fabulous New Year's Eve on the balcon in Nerja where we dined outside and danced until well after midnight. We would love to come back and repeat the experience. The kitchen was well equipped and if you looked closely you would fine rosemary in the garden, braided garlic in the kitchen and lemons on the table to help make a great meal. Nigel and Zoe were quite helpful and patient with our questions. The only thing I would have liked is more reading light. It was a dark time of year and the house seemed dimly lit.
We truly enjoyed our very short stay in this property, but sadly, our 3 week planned stay turned into 6 days , three of which were very stressful, due to the Covid19 crisis. We had to cancel 2 weeks of our stay as the crisis worsened in Spain and we were called home to Canada by our Prime Minister. We had been in Spain already for 10 days before arriving in Maro. Our host Zoe was understanding and helpful.
Unfortunately the owners' policy was no cash refund, but we were offered a credit for two week stay another time.
Although we may never travel again, we wish the owners well as this is a beautiful property.

Comfortable Townhouse in a Beautiful Town
We spent a wonderful 2 weeks in late March staying in this very comfortable, clean, and beautifully restored townhouse filled with many decorative Moorish touches. The kitchen was very well equiped and even had 2 ovens which came in handy on several occasions. It was chilly while we were there but the house has heating downstairs and portable heaters should you need heat elsewhere. Nigel and Zoe live close by and are always available should you require help. Maro is a quiet, pretty town which serves as a good hub for day trips to many interesting towns in the area as well as to Malaga. Nerja is close by and a good place to buy groceries, shop and to eat. Be sure to visit the museum in Nerja. It is very informative about how the communities of Nerja and Maro evolved. We had a very good meal in the Detunta restaurant in Maro. Before you arrive in Maro, be sure to pick up basic food necessities. The stores in Maro may be closed.
The home is every bit as beautiful as you hope. This is a time that the photos really don’t do it justice. Zoe was fantastic even going so far as to come and pick up our suitcases (we flew in from the US so got in early morning), so we didn’t have to worry about them all day. The house is well equipped and very comfortable. We were there the second week in August and it was HOT! The A/C in the upstairs bedroom was a huge benefit as it was very hard to keep the rest of the house cool enough to be comfortable even with a fan in the bedroom off the courtyard. Due to the heat, we chose not to go all the way down to Maro beach as the climb back up the steep hill was not a pleasant one. We opted instead for either going into Nerja or nearby Torrox Costa. I think having a car would have been helpful but given the parking situation, opted out. The walk into Nerja realistically is more like 45 minutes and there are busses that go from the roundabout. Of course, the caves have always been a must-see and are an easy walk. There are small shops that sell food and beach stuff. We had coffee in the mornings in Maro but chose to eat meals wherever we were headed for the day. Taxis from Nerja cost about €10. Did I mention how awesome Zoe was?
