It was great for the type of hostel it is. We had a double bed with a bunk above us and the bathroom down the hall. All was clean and staff very nice. We may have gotten the last room for miles so we were very grateful. It was a bit pricey for a hostel but that may be because it was peak time.
Much bigger in side, but small bed room, but clean. Use of Kitchen, fridge, microwave etc. Toilets and showers along the corridor. Large sitting and games room. Small swimming pool. More Hostel, than hotel, but very good for the price.
My girlfriend and I made a last-minute decision to stay in Nelson during a busy time in the town, and we were fortunate to find a reasonably-priced standard double room available here. It was clean, the owners were friendly, and the WiFi was pretty good. We also liked that they had a communal game/TV room with a pool table. Nelson is also a great city with plenty to do.
Downsides: the room was very small, a portion of the building in the front was under construction, and the shared-bathroom showers had a 5-minute timer.
