Kijabe Sunset View Guesthouse

Kijabe Sunset View Guesthouse

10/10 Excellent
"Great location (google maps will take you to just below the property where you can’t access it from the road, so instead make the first right after passing AIC Mission church, driving uphill up Kijabe Road). Hezron and Berry were very attentive, checking in with me several times every day and changing sheets/towels when needed. Also helped me arrange drivers when needed for excursions and washed and dried my clothes beautifully once for free and once for a small fee. Good amenities. I stayed for 2 weeks and had the whole place to myself for the majority of that which I enjoyed but it was also nice at the start of my stay when there were some missionary families staying. They provide clean drinking water and lots of storage space. Great views on to Mount Longonot and the Rift valley. Many missionaries/doctors in the area commented that this is where they recommend their families/friends stay when visiting them in Kijabe and I would recommend!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Ndakaini?
The best area to stay in Ndakaini is near the Ndakaini Dam itself, offering beautiful views and convenient access to the main attractions.

This area is the focal point for visitors, primarily due to the impressive Ndakaini Dam, which is a significant landmark. The landscape is characterised by rolling hills and lush greenery, providing a tranquil setting. Accommodation options here often boast views of the dam or the surrounding countryside, ensuring a peaceful stay.

Couples looking for a romantic escape will find this area particularly appealing. The serene environment is superb for leisurely walks around the dam, enjoying the natural beauty, and simply unwinding together. Some lodges offer private balconies where you can enjoy the sunrise or sunset over the water.

For solo travellers seeking a peaceful retreat and a connection with nature, staying close to the dam is ideal. The quiet surroundings provide an opportunity for reflection, birdwatching, or simply enjoying a book with a view.
When is the best time to go to Ndakaini?
The best time to visit Ndakaini is during the dry seasons, specifically from June to October and again from December to March.

These periods offer pleasant weather with less rainfall, making it ideal for outdoor activities and exploring the natural beauty of the area. You'll find the trails around Ndakaini Dam are clearer, and the views across the water and surrounding hills are at their best.

For those planning to enjoy watersports or go fishing on the dam, the dry months provide calm waters and consistent conditions. The cooler temperatures during these times also make extended periods outdoors more comfortable.
