Nashville Lake Chalet, Waterfront Sunset Views!
Unmatched views from this hillside lake cottage! Enjoy the 180-degree panorama of the wide part of Old Hickory Lake. The view is due west, so the sunsets are terrific. Sit in the hot tub on the lower deck while you watch the sun drop over the water. Sit on the hillside, or the porch swing, or one of the decks, there are so many options for hanging out and taking it all in. Sailboats and other watercraft wander by, including an occasional large working barge.
Superb location, peaceful feel of a lake home, nestled in the trees on a steep hillside. Panoramic setting overlooking Old Hickory Lake. This truly is a year-round paradise.
Central heat and air in this lake cottage, an A-frame chalet built in the late 1970's. It is modest in size and structure but made to fit neatly into the forested hillside and present the look and feel of a true lakeside vacation cottage.
The lakefront lot is on deepwater. This is not just a lake view cottage, it is ON the lake.
This cottage has a gas log fireplace inside for relaxing evenings by the fire and a propane grill outside for some quality summer barbeque. The sunroom is a great place to eat, read, sip wine or coffee surrounded by the view of the lake and the trees.
The relaxing feel is incredible here, tucked away on a hill at the end of the road, surrounded by tall trees. Goodbye stress, you are on vacation at the lake. Rustic shabby chic cottage decor, see photos.
Fantastic retreat - a real Tennessee lake cottage. On a lovely section of Old Hickory Lake. Hot tub on the back porch. Two car garage, with heat and air sources. Private and wooded. Your front yard is sloped right into the lake. The two bedrooms have hardwood floors. Small but fully stocked kitchen. Provided are linens for beds, towels for bathrooms and internet.
This hillside perch has a long winding sidewalk. Elderly guests that want to avoid the steps to the water can simply enjoy the view from the front deck of the cottage. (Check the photos!)
Only 22 miles to downtown Nashville, and even closer to BNA, the Nashville airport. Great for peace and quiet, thinking and creative pursuits. Great for creative time. Write your #1 hit song here!

Wonderful

We wanted a few days at a quiet spot with a hottub that wasn't too far from being able to grab food. This was a perfect spot to relax and get away while enjoying a great view across the lake either sitting in the hot tub or from the perfect glass covered dining area.
This was a gray spot to chill on one of the outdoor decks or closer to the water on the pier. The house had everything we needed and we liked that it was accessible to some nice hikes as well as Nashville. Definitely a “ go ahead and book “ location.
My sister and I stayed at this rental. Small but big enough for the two of us. The beautiful views of the lake. We even got a chance to see deer in the area. The downside was the amount of steps. And yes I did see the pictures, but thought I can handle it. Bad knees and getting too old to handle so many. Another bad point was the upstairs would not cool down at all. That was an issue because of the heat we had that week.

Would not rent again
The cabin needs some serious updates. Furniture in and outside terrible and jets in hot tub not working properly. Bed very uncomfortable. Spider webs and bugs hanging all over the decks and by the hot tub made it uncomfortable to get in hot tub. Tv tiny and the connection horrible. Sun room was nice and the view was very pretty but I could say that was about all. The price of cabin way to much for what you get. The lighting horrible and very hard to get out of the lake with those ladders
Everything about this cottage from the hot tub to the dock to all the working appliances to the comfortable bed were all top notch. We will stay here again We will stay here again in the future.
Everything we needed was there.
The views were phenomenal seen deer , watched fish jumping out of water in early morning.. Boats , planes!
Only complaint is you should buy a new queen bed for the master bedroom.. The bed was very uncomfortable!!!
When we rent I look for location and comfortable bed!!
So thumbs down👎on the bed!!

Avoid at all cost
I booked this place to spend my birthday with my family. At a glance and a view, we were so excited. However this property clearly has a plumbing problem. We cooked in the kitchen and the sink wouldn’t drain after washing dishes. The kitchen sink water proceeded to backup to the only shower in the house. No one could shower. The next morning my husband used the restroom and toilet matter backed up in the shower. You can tell a major water event occurred. The downstairs bedroom hardwood is so warped it’s a tripling hazard.
I called the number on the refrigerator, texted, and contacted the owner on text and VRBO. We weren’t even offered the courtesy of a reply. Ever. I’ve not heard from them despite multiple contact methods.
Horrible hosts. Horrible property. I so dislike giving bad reviews but no one should have this experience.

Not what we were hoping for
When we set out on this vacation we had low expectations on what things would look like for with Covid but what we felt certain of was that if we couldnt do anything else we could get in the lake and float and our dog could go swimming. That was not the case. While this house is on a lake you cant really access it without a boat. I didnt feel comfortable at all trying to get out of the water with the ladder being the way it was and there was definitely not any way for our dog to get out of the water if she got in. We found ourselves having to drive 40 minutes to a beach we could get in the water and enjoy. The house as many have mentioned has a ton of deferred maintenance but that wouldnt have bothered me as much as the lack of access to the lake. We did enjoy the views when we werent being attacked by Mayflies that went on for the first 3 days we were there. The sunroom was very relaxing and I appreciated the toilet paper and paper towels as well as the laundry supplies. The neighborhood was nice and we enjoyed many walks around it. To say we were dissapointed was an understatment but we just tried to make the best of what we had. You guys definintely need to fix the ladder situation as that is a huge deal breaker there is barely enough room for the tips of your toes on the top rung to get in. NOT SAFE !!
This house checked all the boxes for my family of 4. It was on the lake. The dock was great. Caught 2 pretty big fish right off the dock. My 9yr old son swam every day. We saw deer every day. We used the jacuzzi which was cleaned by a professional company shortly after we arrived. Having a nice supply of paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, dishwasher tabs, laundry detergent and fabric sheets is a nice touch. Even had a container of worms in the fridge. Would recommend and stay again if ever in the area. Thanks for a great week at a Nashville Lakehouse.
The house was nice with a great view of the lake. Our baby is crawling and would get really dirty from the floors. The outside furniture also needed cleaned.
Great property, beautiful views, close to Nashville. Kayaks are available which is nice. The place is clean and surprised no bugs in such an wooded area. The steps going down to the river can be tough if you aren't used to stairs. Only used the hot tub once which was clean and hot.
The house, the view, the neighborhood and neighbors were all just lovely. I would love to visit again. The house had everything I needed. I especially appreciated being allowed to bring my dog.
This house is so cute. My family which includes 2 18 year old boys, an 18 year old girl and 17 year old boy, my husband and myself, stayed here. All four kids slept upstairs. I was wonderful hearing them laughing and talking at night before bed. We fished off the dock every morning and every night. Soaked in the hot tub while watching the sun set. The diningroom table is in a glass sunroon which was amazing for family dinners. Close enough to shopping and dining without having to be in the big city. The house had everything that we needed as far as towels, dishes, bedding and what not. We loved our stay. Just enough to give the family a little space when needed, but cozy enough to encourage conversation and family time.
We were looking for a lake view and a place to fish, we found it. The lake was absolutely gorgeous. But what surprised me the most was the fact that everything we needed was there. I was looking for sissors, a pen, a pot, fresh coffee, a pen, a lighter -- this place was thoughtful and gorgeous.
My adult cousins and I went to Nashville for a long weekend and while the journey downtown was sometimes long, waking up in the morning to that beautiful lake view was incredible. We spent more time on the all-weather porch than anywhere else.
My surcomstances for travel is unusual because of ongoing medical treatment. Pat was very accommodating. My family and I enjoyed the property, especially the location. We enjoyed early morning coffee on the deck and evenings in the sun room when it was cold and rainy. Would deffinately rent again. We had an issue with a bed and Pat took care of it the same day we called.
We had an amazing time. The view from the deck was absolutely beautiful. It was so nice having everything provided and not having to worry about the small stuff. The kids enjoyed swimming off the dock and the dogs loved laying out on the enclosed deck. We would definitely return.
