Great house with lots of history and charm. Family had plenty of space and the location was good. Easy check-in and the house had everything we needed.
We recently had the pleasure of renting a historical stonewall home in Gallatin, TN for our stay during Nash Camp. The location was ideal, offering a serene atmosphere while still being conveniently located near the camp activities.
The home itself was a true gem, with plenty of room for our group and beautiful antiques throughout that added to the charm and character of the space. This stonewall historical home is unique and the historic feel made our stay truly memorable.
We were impressed with the attention to detail in the home, from the carefully curated decor to the comfortable furnishings. It was clear that the owners had put a lot of thought and effort into creating a welcoming and enjoyable space for their guests.
Overall, our experience renting this historical stonewall home in Gallatin was exceptional. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and unique accommodation in the area. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
We are so grateful to our host Ashley and the Sumner County Museum for allowing guests like us to experience this beautiful antebellum home! We were the only couple who stayed in it, and it was so very peaceful! We were able to prepare and cook a large Christmas meal for our adult family on Christmas Day! They enjoyed having such a special and rare experience.
My mother-in-law grew up in her grandmother’s home so similar to this in Athens, Georgia..that she felt like she was back in time! We definitely want to do this stay again!
Note to potential renters: this beautiful 2 centuries old home is a historical treasure. Most of the furnishings beds, chairs, etc. are early to mid 1800s, even the lamps ( though most are electric), are still antique. If you are considering booking this grand place…make sure you have guests who are considerate of its age, and respectful of the furnishings. It truly is an honor and a rare experience to stay in such a place!
The home is clean, comfortable and well appointed. There are pleasant historical rooms with antiques and oil paintings balanced by a modern and convenient kitchen and an up to date primary suite with adjoining office. The grounds are beautiful and relaxing.
Everyone was so easy to work with. We hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner at the house which turned out beautiful. Everyone enjoyed learning about the home and the history which was so cool!
The hosts were so helpful so easy to check in the place was absolutely stunning. Just love the ambience great kitchen lots of room for everybody. Lots of exciting elements to this wonderful place loved it 10 stars all the way.
We had a great time here for a few days leading up to our son’s wedding. 4 couples stayed here and had a great time. I would highlyrecommend this VRBO.
This is an adorable historic home! We were in town for our daughters wedding. The location was perfect.
The preservation of the home and the antique furnishings throughout are fascinating. Ashley was very responsive when I needed to ask a few questions.

There were six of us and only five available bedrooms in the main house. Though there are beds over the sunroom, I was afraid of going down the stairs at night. That is such a nice room but the makeshift runner on those steps seemed like a trip hazard. I can only imagine the upkeep costs of this house, but you may want to consider redoing those stairs. Also, the tall beds need little step ladders. I do not mean to be unkind, but I imagine others may have the same thoughts. I do appreciate you all trying to keep up this historical home.
We were in the area for a wedding and really enjoyed the spacious and quiet beauty of the historic Stonewall house. The furnishings, rooms and antiques were beautiful. The house has some quirks but this property is so unique and convenient that you’ll be glad you stayed here. Ashley, our host, was fantastic and she promptly answered my call when the electronic lock wasn’t programmed properly. Would love to stay here again!

We could not have picked a better house! Loved the spotless house; loved all the authentic artifacts in the house; slept in the most comfy bed; loved short walks to coffee, restaurants & groceries; loved all the movie apps on the smart TV's. Could not ask for anything more!
The property is definitely unique with its historic setting. The hist was very responsive & the kitchen was well stocked for the small get together we had. My only suggestion would be to update the listing so it is extremely clear to potential renters that family gatherings/parties must be booked as an event.
Historic Stonewall was perfect for our family while we were visiting Gallatin/Hendersonville for a wedding! The detail in each room is interesting and even has a QR code to explain historical items. It was such a delight to find out that the house is being preserved by the local museum. Opening it up for guests to stay is brilliant!!! The kitchen is huge and we were able to invite the rest of our family over for dinner. The house is spacious, plenty of bathrooms and the beds were very comfortable. Walking distance to shopping and a grocery store is right across the street. The property manager was available to answer questions and checked on us during our stay. The museum manager walked us through the house explaining the history and future. We are looking forward to visiting again!
We've been to the Nashville area twice in the past two years. Last year we did the tourist thing at the major resort hotel next to the Opry. This year we looked for something more relaxing which better reflects the history and local color of the area.
In Stonewall we found it and much more. The restoration, although a work in progress, is proceeding nicely and allowed us a comfortable stay while enjoying complete immersion in the 200 year history of the house.
Each room reflects the house from time built to the present day. Furniture, wall & window coverings, artifacts, owner portraits surround and educate you in every inch of the place. There is also barcode scanners in each room to further explain each rooms function and furnishings.
The property manager, Ashley, is very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.
The house is located on main street, 1 block from town center, with a local supermarket just across the road. It is awesomely quiet.
We totally enjoyed our stay and would do it again.
STONEWALL IS SENSATIONAL!
