It won't be there long, sadly...
We loved this place! Great room, of good size, with a view over the terrasse and pool, and beyond that to the Loire. It's a fair walk from the Chateau, Le Lieu Unique, &c. and until you cross the river, it's not the prettiest part of town, but the level of comfort of the hotel, and the superlative breakfasts, make this an excellent choice for a city visit. You'll need to be quick though; Mercure are not extending their lease on this site, and it is due for demolition after May next year. Whilst that means some of the hotel looks like it could use some refurbishment, it also means bargains are to be had. Staff are attentive, knowledgeable about sites to see, and always helpful.

Ok but chance of Building Site Views..
A long way from the City Centre but an OK walk, large room with AirCon although very dated and 70's style, Hotel food very expensive so did not have breakfast, awful view from and of the rear of the Hotel, the pictures on Hotels.com only show the better side from the Pool. Our room looked onto the carpark and a Building site which was unfortunate i guess, I would not stay here again.

Quiet neighbourhood on the banks of the Loire
Located in a quiet neighbourhood on the banks of the Loire. Somewhat far from the city centre on the opposite side of Ile de Nantes. Pleasant staff. '70s-ish hotel decor. Regrettably the credit card impression taken on check-in had extra charges added to it for breakfasts that were already paid for -- beware.

Business trip to Nantes
This was a business trip. Didn't see anything of Nantes other than driving through it and having diner in the evening, when it was dark.

Great location overlooking the river
Fantastic staff, great location. Glad we stayed here instead of right in the town centre. Only 8 minutes on the bus to the centre. No room safe but safety deposit boxes available free at reception. The hotel and rooms do look dated and a little tired but as a base for sightseeing it was perfect and the beds were very comfortable. Fridge in the room and kettle and a TV. Very clean and a good outdoor pool.Aircon in the room.

Good staff at this hotel. They were very attentive and friendly but also very professional. Hotel is good but in need of an update. The hotel is on a central island in Nantes called Ile de Nantes. Some of the island is a bit raggy. The hotel is not easy to find by car but once you are there it has ample parking. Public transport on and off the island is good.

Friendly hotel in pleasant location
We stayed for 4 nights as a family of 4 (two teenage children). We were very pleased with the hotel which, although a little way out of the centre of Nantes, is well linked to the city and the main tourist sites by the excellent public transport network. We found the hotel staff all to be very welcoming and helpful. The food in the restaurant was very good but slightly expensive for us (approximately 100 euros for a meal for four), so we made use of restaurants in the nearby Beaulieu shopping centre for breakfast and dinner. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We had a nice view of the Loire river. Some of the decor in the hotel is a little bit worn but the overall impression is very good. There is an unheated swimming pool - unfortunately the weather wasn't ideal for swimming but the pool was a good size and well maintained.

Good hotel for city break or business
Good pool. Enjoyable dinner and breakfast. Room basic but quite comfortable and a nice bath. Overlooking a building site but hopefully only temporary. Breakfast by the pool was excellent!

İ was searching for a hotel close to train station of Nantes. So i only stayed for a night at this hotel. İt is far from Nantes Gar but the hotel seemed really nice, especially the swimming pool... They arranged Mercure Gar which is right nearby the train station in Nantes. Thanks,

Nice hotel
The hotel was great, the staff were ver friendly and the breakfast was adequate. The rooms were a great size and included a two seater lounge. The bus station was a two minute walk from the hotel, however, we enjoyed the walk into the city which took 30 minutes at a casual pace. The only negative thing I could find was there were now cafés or restaurants opened of a night near the hotel. There is a lovely shopping centre only up the road from the hotel. Free parking was also included in the price.

Nice hotel, awkward location.
The hotel itself was quite nice and the secure parking and the swimming pool were nice additions. The limited choices for dining in the restaurant were disappointing (especially the lack of any vegetarian options at all) which meant we had to go into town for dinner. The location of the hotel means that unless you want to drive into town a taxi is the best option (although there is a bus stop a 5 minute walk away) and this is what we had to do. The rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet, and the hotel decor was nice enough, I probably wouldn’t stay there again, but only because of the location and the limited dining options.

Great family stop off on way to ferry
We picked the hotel as a stop over on way from Spain to catch a ferry in St Malo. It was easy to find with plenty of secured parking on site. The service was great and the family room, was roomy and ideal for two adults and two under 7s. The only downside was the fact the hotel is a bit out of the way in relation to restaurants etc but this was not the end of the world. Overall we would recommend the hotel.

It is a nice hotel, friendly staff, clean, comfortable & spacious rooms. The restaurant is a bit disappointing with very little choice. Went into the centre of Nantes for dinner instead.

Family friendly hotel - no restaurant on Sunday pm
Nice hotel for the family. Usually use Novatel for overnight journey breaks but wanted a pool so booked this hotel. Staff very helpful. Parking secure but open unless in the underground which has a 2 m height limit ( no bikes or roof box). Locked our bikes in there and left car in open. Only criticism is that the restaurant is closed on Sunday pm. To eat either limited room service or 30 min into town. Would visit again. Riverside views really can see the river!

Rooms were comfortable, clean, with thoughtful touches. We enjoyed the pool. The helpful receptionist could assist in English. Prices for breakfast seemed a bit high.

Decent hotel that ticked all the right boxes. Initially didn't have the baby cot we asked for but rectified immediately. My daughter loved the swimming pool and the surrounding area is quiet. Would recommend though a bit far from the city centre and travel connection a.

2 day visit - Mainly for Les Machines exhibit
Comfortable hotel, with a nice large room. We really wanted a hotel with a pool as our 8 yr old son loves to swim. Pool was well maintained though not heated. Staff very helpful and friendly - spoke brilliant english which helps as my french is v. limited. Large shopping mall 5 minute walk from the hotel and the neighbourhood is undergoing lots of regeneration. Not the prettiest part of the city, but perfectly safe. Only drawback was that the hotel is a long walk away from the main city itself, though if you have a car and a sat nav it really isn't a problem getting around. We have stayed in a couple of french Mercure hotels now and they all seem pretty good value for a budget(ish) hotel. I'd stay here again, though you do need a car to get around

Bastille Day, 14th July sees a number of reduced services in France; so it was on our visit to this hotel. However, the duty manager on the front desk was more than helpful (I needed internet help with an airline reservation), and I found his assistance better than good, both in English and in my limited French. Restaurant was on a limited menu because of staff and public holiday, but he readily offered a local alternative about five minutes' walk away. Having said that, we chose to stick with their limited-choice menu, and were in no way disappointed; besides, the waitress was most welcoming and cleared a table for us especially with a view of the river. The hotel reception area is currently undergoing a small refurbishment at their bar, screened off; a temporary one is set up next to the restaurant. This is NO problem when the hotel is quiet, as when we visited. Room standards were well up to the business or leisure traveller's needs; although your website claims a minibar to be installed, it had clearly been de-installed from under the TV. No problem for us,as it happens. Five to seven minutes' stroll to a Carrefour supermarket, too, if you need it. About 6 to 7 Euros' taxi ride from SNCF city station; 20 minutes (on a Sunday) to airport, just under Eur.40. Recommended, nice quiet location away from city noise.

Too far from the centre of Nantes
Fine comfortable hotel with excellent facilities. On arrival however we were given a standard room and we had paid for a superior room with river views.The room was changed after a complaint and showing them my booking printout! This should not have happened.The hotel says a short stroll from the city centre! No such thing its a good15 minute drive to the centre of Nantes which we didnt want as we had been before and knew that parking was horrific to find and pay for and that the one way system is horrendous to navigate in the centre even for people living there! So overall not a good expereince although nothing wrong with the hotel its not in any way convenient if you want to wander round the sights which are in the centre such as the castle and the cathedral and in our case the christmas markets.John

Nante Mercure - Great Hotel
This hotel was great. I would recommend staying in this one. The photos of the pool don't really amaze you and may seem a little offputting but when you get there the setting is nice. There is also free bike hire (although a limited number). The bar/restaurant is nice too (although we didn't have time to really utilise them). The location of the hotel is great too but could be a bit far to walk to the main sites of Nante for families (but great for public transport/bikes/cars). It is also on an island situated in a quiet semi residential area which is fine too. The staff were also excellent- really friendly and helpful, and very flexible for english speakers only.

Tucked away in a business area which made this a quiet location but with easy access to the heart of the old town of Nantes.The hotel was modern and airy and the room very spacious and comfortable. We were pleased to see tea and coffee making facilities which is not the norm on the continent.Pleasant,helpful staff and good, secure parking.

Des l arrivée l accueil fut tres professionnel avec des conseils pour bien se déplacer dans la ville. la qualite de la chambre fut a la hauteur du tarif et le confort de la literie nous a permis de bien récupérer. Le petit déjeuner servi en salle était de tres bonne qualité avec un grand choix de plats. un excellent sejour dans cet hôtel mercure. la piscine doit etre très agréable en été.
