Perfect Getaway Spot!

The cottage was spectacularly clean, so cute with the retro kitchen. Great location, and the host, Bridgett, was very kind and responsive to our inquiries. Oh and the pumpkin bread in the welcome basket was delicious!

We would definitely stay here again! Great location, very clean, & well-stocked. The owners were very easy to get in touch with, not that we had any issues at all! So many nice touches, including a great welcome basket. Looking forward to coming back here next year!

Perfect Place!

The Salty Shrimp was the perfect location, clean, inviting, and comfy. They had accessories for our dog, board games and toys, and lots of beach gear. We had such a great time here with access to so many shops and restaurants in the general area, and even though it rained every day of our trip we made it to the beach every day with just a super short one block walk. We will be back!

Amazing getaway

We truly enjoyed our time at the Salty Shrimp.The house had everything that we needed and it was a quick walk to the beach. Our host Bridgett was amazing! We were there during the tropical storm and Bridgett stayed in contact with us to make sure everything was okay. We look forward to going back in the future and highly recommend this rental!!

Best little house ever! Everything was clean and organized. Even had stuff for our pup. Loved how close it was to the beach and shops. Highly recommend! Owners nice and respond fast! Lots of restaurants around that your pup can join you at. Will be back!

This house was beautiful and very very clean. My husband and I enjoyed our stay. The bed was very comfortable. (My husband calls it the miracle bed) lol. We would definitely stay there again. Bridgett was our contact and she was very personable. Loved the gift basket with the pumpkin bread. Absolutely delicious.

Loved our first trip to the Outer Banks!

This cottage was perfect for us!! It was so clean! Bridgett communicated the details with us and was very responsive if we had a question. The popcorn and sweet bread were both delicious. The coffee was great! We definitely plan on returning. One of the highlights of our trip was “The Wild Horse Adventure Tour!” It’s located in Corolla. It did not disappoint! They use a 12 passenger Hummer as their transport vehicle. Everyone has a great view as well as a comfy seat. Our tour guide, Jeanea, was the best ever!! We are now in love with the Outer Banks!! Perfect cottage with a great location!

This was our second stay at The Salty Shrimp. We love this cottage! We love that this home is pet-friendly so that we can bring our pup with us and the owners even provided food and water bowls and a towel just for her. Our favorite thing about this cottage is the location. The beach access is just a short block away and there are so many great restaurants, stores, and activities close by. The home has been extremely clean both times we have stayed there - which is a HUGE plus for us. It is obvious that the owners go to great lengths to make sure guests are happy during their stay. There have even been gift baskets left for us during both of our stays. And the owners reached out to make sure we had everything that we needed after checking in. We hope to stay at The Salty Shrimp again in the future! Thank you to the owners for opening your home and for helping to make our stay comfortable!

Nags Head cottage

The property is older, needs some work but it was very clean even though it allows dogs, but you would never know that its that clean. Our contact Bridgette was very nice and easy to work with. Only complaint was it stated it had 3 TV's, which it did but only 1 TV worked in living room with cable, the other 2 in 2 of the 3 bedrooms did not work at all. There was no cable attached to them , had DVD's? Not sure why? does anyone use DVD players anymore?

Quaint, Cozy Cottage

Perfect beach cottage! Loved this beach access - one block from the access itself - quick 2 minute walk down the sidewalk. Can run back to the cottage for lunch, check on your pooch, snag more snacks, etc. Access has a wooden ramp w/out steps and a "beach carpet" that extends a little ways over the dune. You could also just walk the sandy ramp which was mostly flat. The neighborhood was quiet and perfect for bike rides and morning walks. The side yard was great for letting our dog get a little exercise in. The house itself was spotless! The cleanest house we've ever stayed in! Little beach decorations in all the right places, comfy beds, cool retro kitchen appliances, front porch was screened and perfect for people watching, enjoyed the back deck,e tc etc etc. If we could add something to make this house an even better place to stay, we'd add a second bathroom, or a half bath at least. It was challenging for all 5 of us to use the same bathroom, but we made it work for the week. The communication was awesome as well and we appreciate everything that goes into getting a house ready for a family to have a super beach vacay! Would definitely rent again in the future!

We had a great stay in Nags Head! The location was perfect—just a short walk to the beach, which made it easy to take advantage of every break in the weather. While the weather wasn’t ideal for most of the trip, being so close to the ocean allowed us to squeeze in beach time between storms. Communication with the host was excellent throughout our stay. Overall, a convenient and comfortable spot for a beach getaway!

Home away from home

There is a very good reason we keep coming back to the Salty Shrimp year after year. The house is always very clean and comfortable. The central location to either Corrolla or Hatteras or any point between is perfect. We have tried a few other homes in the area and each time regret not going home to the Salty Shrimp. Thank you Bridgette and Andy. We look forward to next year.

We love the cozy and convenient Salty Shrimp. We have stayed there a number of times. The hosts are very kind and responsive. The location is a short walk to a stairfree beach access and near many restaurants and other attractions. The house is comfortable and cute. We enjoyed evenings relaxing in the rocking chairs on the screened-in front porch. We have had wonderful stays there.
