"Das Hotel hat eine hervorragende Lage direkt am See und eine tolle Außenterrasse. Damit ist aber bereits das einzig positive genannt. Das Hotel ist sehr alt. Alles ist in die Jahre gekommen. Bevor man sein Zimmer erreicht, mussten wir erst 42 Stufen unser Gepäck hinauftragen. Einen Fahrstuhl oder andere Hilfsmittel gibt es nicht. Das Zimmer war eine einzige Katastrophe. "Charming hotel. Staff was very nice and conversational. It felt like the real Swiss German experience, not some tourist trap. It's a pretty old building with no air conditioning, but is very charming. Breakfast is pretty basic, but the staff made an effort, even providing American style filter coffee. Cars are loud on the nearby road, you'll need to close the windows."

"Location is in the middle of the old town right next to one of the plazas where markets and festivals can be held. Only 10-15 min walk from Bern train station. Across from Starbucks if you care for it. And no worries, no all-night loud music like some cities in Europe. Everything is packed up by 6-7pm. My room was small but comfy and enough for my needs. Would love to have a refrigerator in the room, but the communal refrigerator and the shared kitchen were great (everyone/all guests were respectful during my trip except a few who left their used dishes in the sink.) Extra love for the roofdeck where you could watch sunset with a 360 degree view. All staff members were very helpful and gave me a bunch of good ideas to enjoy my Swiss journey. The hotel setup is unique: self checkin via mobile phone (with staff assistance if needed). So, make sure you have your phone services ready."
