Not like the newer beach houses, this one has character, and the decor is lovely. As a family we loved this, plenty of space to spread out but also lots of areas together together.

The home needs a dehumidifier immediately in the bottom half of the him.The musty smell is very obvious every day unless the Windows are left open & the fans are on full speed.The home is laid out nice, but could use some TLC in a few areas.A thorough cleaning, add some paint and store the clutter out of the renters sight, would go a long way. The home has a large deck with a wonderful view of the beach and the Atlantic. This home is full of kitchen utensils and has multiple comfortable seating areas to enjoy meals. Perhaps a few more TV's would help in the bedrooms. Overall the home has a WHOLE LOT of charm & potential.

New walkway to the beach was helpful. Covered porches on both sides of the house were great as usual. Old style beach house with modern amenities. House was clean and everything very convenient.Plan to continue renting DeBerry house for years to come.Had a great week- weather was perfect.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Man, the views at DeBerry are awesome. And, there's tons of space which we appreciated. We only had a few issues. 1) No one gave us a trash schedule so it was fun trying to figure that out. I called the realty office but no one returned my call. 2) The downstairs has some water damage to the walls in at least one bedroom and smelled heavily of mildew.3) While the place is well-stocked, there is little storage (in kitchen) for guests items. I think that's it. We enjoyed it but did have to overlook a few things.

Deberry Vacation

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall our family had a nice vacation however we will not stay at Deberry Cottage again. We have been going to the Garden City area now for over 40 years and have not had a bad experience with our vacation cottage rental. However, this year was quite different. While we could have not have asked for a more beautiful view of the inlet, the condition of the cottage was subpar. We were plagued by roaches and ants the entire week. I poured my grandson a bowl of cherioos only to discover ants in the cereal. That was 4 days after an exterminator came over and sprayed the cottage on Monday. On top of the bug issue, the ice maker on the refrigerator had to be supplemented with us buying a lot of bags of ice because it was so slow making ice. We had to call maintenance to get our dryer working. There was video surveillance on both levels of the cottage pointing in all directions that we were not informed about ahead of time which felt like a complete invasion of privacy. The decking to go out to the beach was old, splintery, and frankly seemed unsafe for children. The cable box in the master bedroom would not work. The downstairs living area smelled very musty and the ceilings in some areas had obvious water damage. Many of the cabinets upstairs and downstairs were locked so we had few cabinets to use for storgage/pantry, and one of the front porch sofas was broken. It was so disappointing to our entire family to be staying in these living conditions. This cottage could be such a perfect place to stay if, in my opinion, the regular and normal maintenance was kept up to date.

The DeBerry family has an amazing home and so grateful they allow others the share. Views of the marsh and the ocean - it was hard to decide where the spend the day. We actually got the kids to turn off the electronics and spend time outside on the porch and on the beach. Great memories. Will be a house we come back and rent again.

Great Vacation Spot

Amazing views, inlet & ocean sides. Sunrise & sunsets were awesome. Easy check in & out at the office, friendly staff, & close to the house. Gulfstream Cafe, across the street - Sunday buffet was great. Listen to music from the cafe on the front deck. Both decks have lots of chairs. Large grill was great for the 11 of us. Owner checked in to make sure all was well. Beach is great, not crowded. Never wanted to leave the house. Enjoyed every minute of the week. We will return for our next family vacation.

Our daughter and her family (4 small children) stayed in the downstairs which gave us the upstairs. The walk to the beach was a littler further than we typically like but again, overall, the house met our needs.Property Condition, overall very clean however, the house filter needs cleaning.Property management was very helpful and professional every time I called or needed something.

A Home Away from Home- The Deberry Beach House

The covered porches on both sides of the house were absolutely the highlight of the week. We had 3 couples and plenty of room for everyone not to get in one another's way. You got the feel of an old style beach home with all the modern amenities.The house was very clean and well maintained. The owner even called us asking if all was well. We plan to make the Deberry House our annual beach house getaway.

Downstairs needs renovation and not really suitable accomodations. Most kitchen cupboards locked leaving no place for food products. Pots, pans in bad condition and not usable. Downstairs-3 bedrooms are only fair and 2 baths need upgrade. Outdoor porches ,decks and patios were delightful!!! Great house!!
