We had such a great experience staying here. The property was beautiful and the hosts were very welcoming and friendly. The property was very pet friendly as well. We will definitely go back for the peace and quiet!
The house is in a beautiful quiet and secluded area. It is a great place for a fishing getaway. It is beautifully decorated inside with a cozy feeling. And the plate of homemade cookies were a nice touch!

Exactly what we needed. Peaceful, secluded, and relaxing! The trails are an added bonus. The respect for nature, pets, and people spoke to us, which are evident in the aesthetic of the property. We come to Jacksonville often and will definitely be back!
We have stayed here on multible occasions! Always clean and has everything we need! Amazing host!!! Thanks for everything! Can’t wait to stay there again!
This was my second visit at Peace on the Prairie Too and it was just as cozy and welcoming as the first. The house is extremely clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully stocked with not just necessities, but extra touches. It's a joy to have such a lovely place to stay with my dog and to be able to get off the road and into the beautiful prairie surrounded by trees, flowers, and birds. I look forward to returning again.
I had such a great stay here with my dogs. The place had everything we needed and then some. The property is beautiful and I was lucky the weather cooperated so we could walk through the trails and I could take some pictures of the many birds in the area. I will definitely be back. Thank you!
Cozy quiet location as described. The trails seem to be substantial, more than I had time for in a single evening. Very well-maintained accommodations.
We loved the little house and had everything we needed. The cookies were delicious! The family member that was happiest of all was the dog who ran up and down the trails with utter joy!!!
The place is really comfortable, and the trails and nature around are perfect for exploring, especially with my dog. It was so easy to relax and just enjoy the quiet. Great spot if you want a break from it all and don’t want to worry about leaving your pet behind. Definitely recommend!

The host was extremely accommodating. When I told him I was looking forward to stargazing, he offered to lower the outside lighting. I was so relaxed I didn't want to leave!

This house was in a very quiet coutry setting with several trails, lots of flowers, modern appliances, airconditioning on bottom and top leval, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
The host Kevin even helped us to guide us by phone how to get to this well kept up, remote house.
Kid friendly - pet friendly - lovely view of stars (when no clouds). Comfortable home! Stairs are kind of steep if you have someone with mobility issues but they have their other 1 story property too. I walked past it during a hike and it also looks lovely. Kevin was so easy to communicate with. I will be back.
Kevin and the beautiful property he maintains will be at the top of my list for travels to the region, in perpetuity. The house, acreage, gardens, host interactions: everything was absolutely delightful. Thank you Kevin for creating a secure & comfortable space for ALL folks traveling to that part of IL. You are providing an invaluable service to the larger community.
We heard 36 different birds in 10 minutes during breakfast. The hosts’ respect of nature and all people oozes from all the little extras. The humans, dogs, and birds echo that sentiment.
We both had the best nights sleep in a long time. Loved the clarity of the stars and the sound of crickets and frogs. Met Kevin briefly. He was very friendly and genuinely concerned for our comfort and satisfaction. Overall a pleasant experience.
Me and my girlfriend needed a weekend away from home but decided to bring our dogs with us! This property is very clean, secluded, and has many walking paths attached to it. The only thing is, bring tick repellent and make sure any pets have flea and tick prevention. Ticks are prevalent but not a trip ruiner. The stars are bright, the birds are prevalent, and the pollinators are pollinating.
Great getaway spot for any nature lover or pet owner.
Kevin was very kind and very helpful throughout the weekend.
