From here, you can reach the Teufelsgrund visitor mine and its health tunnels within minutes by car, or visit the ninth-century Benedictine monastery Sankt Trudpert. Other nearby attractions include the picturesque old town of Staufen, the mystical Nonnenmattweiher lake hidden in the woods, the spa in Bad Krozingen, and the sunny city of Freiburg im Breisgau with its cathedral and historic old town. The Markgräflerland and Kaiserstuhl regions offer rolling hills and vineyards. A train or car trip to Basel or a day excursion to Alsace, France, is also highly recommended.
