The best area to stay in Muneambuanas is around the Muneambuanas Lagoon, particularly in the lodges situated along its banks.

This area is the heart of the Muneambuanas experience, offering direct access to the lagoon's waters and the surrounding natural park. Lodges here are typically located amongst riverine forests, providing a tranquil setting and often featuring private decks or viewing platforms overlooking the water. The general layout is spread out, with properties designed to blend into the natural landscape.

Couples often find this area ideal for a romantic and secluded getaway. The lodges provide an intimate setting, with opportunities for private boat trips on the lagoon, sundowner cruises, and guided walks through the park. The focus is on relaxation and appreciating the natural beauty and wildlife.

For travellers interested in wildlife observation, staying by the lagoon is also perfect. Many lodges offer guided safaris, birdwatching excursions, and canoe trips directly from their properties.

The best time to visit Muneambuanas is during the dry season, which runs from May to October.

During these months, the weather is generally clear and sunny with less humidity, making it ideal for outdoor activities and wildlife viewing. The lack of rain means that animals congregate around the remaining water sources, making them easier to spot. This period also coincides with cooler temperatures, particularly in the mornings and evenings, providing a more comfortable experience for safaris and exploring the region.

Couples looking for a romantic safari experience will find this period particularly appealing. The pleasant weather allows for uninterrupted game drives and sundowner experiences, while the reduced vegetation offers excellent photographic opportunities of the abundant wildlife. Many lodges also offer private guided tours during this time, enhancing the intimate feel of a safari.

For those interested in birdwatching, the dry season, especially towards its end in September and October, is excellent as many migratory birds begin to arrive, adding to the resident species.
