All day long, the sun shines down on Mullins Beach in the northwest of Barbados. From the glorious sunrise to the staggeringly beautiful sunset across the sea, Mullins Beach is a beach-lovers’ paradise. Far from the madding crowds and bustle of Bridgetown, it is also an oasis of tranquillity. The naturally sunny disposition of Mullins Beach is perfect for sun worshippers, though there are of course umbrellas to hire too. Simply while away a few hours in this little spot of paradise – reading, sunbathing, relaxing, sipping rum punch or out on the water.Take a dip in the inviting calm, warm waters of the azure Caribbean sea. Hire a jet ski or do some water skiing for the chance to speed through the waves beyond the swimming area. There’s a whole world to discover beneath the sea, too: take a ride on a glass-bottomed boat and watch the sea turtles gracefully swimming beneath you. For fun-seekers there’s sometimes a water trampoline at Mullins Beach where you can bounce through the air and launch yourself into the cooling ocean.Stay all day and you’ll be able to visit the fantastic beach bar here with marine views and great food, or ‘eat local’ at a snack van parked by the beach. Buy a souvenir from one of the vendors here and you’ll have something to remind you of paradise after you leave. No two days are the same on Mullins Beach. Like other beaches on Barbados, the landscape is changing and sometimes coastal erosion can be an issue, but up-to-date local beach reports provide the latest information on the conditions. To preserve the beauty of this place, Barbados has limited parking, so arrive by bus or taxi and let someone else do the driving.
