"Our stay at Shell Cottage was absolutely lovely. We really enjoyed our time there and it has honestly inspired us to visit Adelaide more often in the future. The backyard was just divine, such a beautiful space to relax and unwind. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the hosts went above and beyond with thoughtful touches like Easter eggs and a bottle of wine… which didn’t last long at all! The only downside during our stay was the number of wasps around the property. A few of us were unfortunately stung, so it’s something to be mindful of, especially if you’re travelling with young children. I was very relieved my one-year-old wasn’t stung. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and really appreciated the care the hosts put into the cottage."

"The property is in an excellent location. However, our stay was marred by a lack of basic guest essentials, which made it feel unprepared and inconvenient.The main issue was with fundamental supplies:There was no toilet paper upon arrival. While some was brought by the host later, we were forced to buy our own in the meantime.Bathroom toiletries (shampoo, body wash) were provided in minuscule, single-use tubes, an impractical amount for more than one guest.Dishwashing liquid came in flimsy plastic sachets instead of a standard bottle.We expect a basic level of service, which includes providing adequate, usable supplies. Using wasteful, insufficient formats for these necessities creates guest hassle.Simple improvements would solve this: Providing a starter roll of toilet paper and using standard, refillable pump dispensers for shower and kitchen soap is more guest-friendly, less wasteful, and cost-effective for the host.The absence of these basics significantly impacted our comfort and the overall value of our stay."

"Such a beautiful and clean house!! It’s honestly unbelievable how nice the house was, from the decorations to the appliances to the comfort, they had really thought of it all. I stayed here with my family and we were a large group of 15 and we all loved it so much including the kids. They couldn’t get enough of the kids room as well as the beautifully clean backyard which they used almost the entire time to play. We honestly didn’t want to leave at the end. The accessibility between both houses made hanging out together so easy and seamless. On top of everything, the host is amazing with their communication and made our stay super easy and comfortable. Thank you so much for having us, we’ll definitely rebook next time we’re back in Adelaide. "
