"We enjoyed our stay at this historic hotel. We were upgraded to a suite which was nice. The breakfast and restaurant were good and staff were keen to help. If I had a criticism it is that service can at times be slow despite there being lots of staff around. "

"The room lacked ventilation was noticeably damp and lacked any form of ventilation. The windows suffered condensation and if left open then the monkeys would raid the room for food. The bed felt cold and clammy. Otherwise the location and service were admirable."

"This hotel is the perfect example of what it is not as being portrayed as! Photos look great, this place is a dump! Very dirty, spiders everywhere are hotel bed sheets still had hair from the previous guests take a look at the tub in the photo! Cost more money than this damn break chain with breakfast, there was no way we were going to eat that food with all the gnats flying all over the place Way over price this really isn't even worth an Indian $5 hotel. We paid for 3 nights and left after...
"Reception struggled to find our reservation at check in. Room was basic, Very hard double bed. Kettle and a jug of water was supplied at check in, no further water given and room does not get made up.
We were in the main building annexe and it obviously had not been used for some time, smelt and felt damp. I know we are in the mountains and should expect lower temperatures. We were told hot water would only be available 7-10 both mornings and evenings but we had to ring reception several times...
"There was no heat even though the temperature was below 50 degree Fahrenheit. The shower did not work and the food for breakfast had run out. Our rooms had absolutely no windows or sunlight. Badly needs renovation. Most importantly it’s being run with skimpy staff and so no one answered the telephones or took care of you. Sad because bones of property are great. "
"When I checked in the room had prior guest’s trash and the bed and bathroom smelled terrible. The couch had blood stains. Gave my laundry to be cleaned and it came back stinking like urine. The food was also bad."

"We were tired after a long day of travelling, the bed was the most comfortable so far in our travels in India. We had a great nights sleep. Service was good including giving us a light breakfast at 6 am. Dinner was good also."
"Very helpful and professional staff. Very nice outside breakfast area, nice and clean room with good view, quiet location (you can even hear bird song), relaxed atmosphere, a few km from central Ooty. Small hotel in decent condition, offers tours and more to surroundings"
"Hotel locked at 10pm. Hot water from 7-9am. Had to ask for towels. The reception couple were pleasant but overall not a good experience but of course it was very inexpensive "

"This is a resort so expect lots of children at weekends and holidays. However this charming hotel was perfectly adequate for us. If you are of a sensitive disposition, then the noise from the ventilation might drive you nuts, but any seasoned India traveller should be carrying ear plugs on them as standard which ameliorates the situation!"
"The stay is good luxurious experience for a budget price. The staff is very supportive as well. I would recommend this stay to everyone. It is very close to the city centre as well"
"It’s an excellent new hotel and well maintained property. Courteous staff and immaculate house keeping. Food at Buffet breakfast and dinner is quite extensive and tasty.
I wish the property were renting scooters to go to city and sight seeing. Auto or cab is the only mode of transportation. Majority of the residents have their own car.
I also recommend the management to start working on activity for hotel guests with corresponding transportation."
