Our Possum Valley Hideaway offers you and your family a secluded, yet modern dwelling. Located on in4 secluded acres, up a long, winding, paved and gravel road , through the heart of the Appalachian Mountains lies your own 'Little Dash of Heaven'

We have 2 bedrooms, ** AND A NEWLY ADDED LOFT!!!!**1 bathroom with newly installed bath tub, and an open living room with kitchen. Kitchen includes utensils, dishes and cookware. Come relax on our wrap around porch while swinging in our 2 porch swings. Enjoy the wildlife such as many birds, whitetail deer, wild turkey, squirrels and rabbits, which may be seen at any time.

During your stay you can enjoy hiking, fishing, hunting, skiing, lakes, bike riding on the Creeper Trail, mountain scenery, and NASCAR Racing at the Bristol Raceway.

ok stay

This place would have been great in the past. The hot tub I was so excited to get in but didn't. The hot tub wasn't cleaned at all and had sand and bugs all in it. Also didn't smell chlorine or any cleaning agents in it. There were alot of spots in the cabin with dead bugs. Other than these things mentioned it was ok.

Cute Cozy Cabin

Cabin was extra cute and cozy. Plenty of room for family of 5. Hot tub was nice after a long day of hiking and biking. Would stay again.

Nice peaceful mountain getaway!

We really enjoyed our time here, it was the perfect getaway from city life. The hot tub was perfect after hiking in the Grayson Highlands all day. It rained on our last day there and it was so peaceful hearing the pitter-patter of the rain on the metal roof. Would definitely stay here again!

Cabin in the mountains

This is a beautiful cabin! We enjoyed our stay. All the necessities provided & clean. We definitely enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. Vey relaxing! Not to far from town but far enough away to enjoy the quiet. I will definitely reserve again if we plan a vacation in the area.

Perfect Mountain Getaway

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and we absolutely loved our stay! We went here to rest, relax and recharge and this was the perfect property to do so. 3 blissful days disconnected from the rush and craziness of the modern world. Will definitely visit again!! ♥️

Beautiful & secluded

The cabin was pristine. The beds were comfortable. The shower was clean and large enough. The hot tub was great, and there was a tv out by it, which was nice. The path up to the cabin was a little daunting at first, and it might nit be accessible to a sports car with low clearance, but my compact sedan got up there just fine.

A Great Getaway!

I was looking for somewhere to spend 10 days alone- resting, hiking, and exploring. This was the perfect place for it! The cabin was at the top of a hill, nice and secluded. Everything was clean and tidy. The cabin looked exactly like it was in the photos. And Diana was very quick to respond to any questions. I hope to come back here again next year!

A good value

The beds, kitchen, living room, porch and hot tub were very good. The road to the cabin is steep and would be very difficult in ice or snow, but otherwise is doable by most any car. The location is secluded and quiet. There is a nice view from the porch, but any view from inside is mostly blocked by frosted windows. This is a good value if you are looking to get away from it all.

My Dream Get away from it all Come True

My Dream Getaway on top of a mountain in the woods! Just a Simple Cabin but full of Coziness, Warmth, and Relaxation away from the troubles of today's world. Plenty of Nature, Trails, Streams and Peaceful Beauty in surrounding area to enjoy. Owner was so nice and friendly as we checked in almost like family and we had so much in common. Hope we get to return in future and I'll keep dreaming of having a place like this of my own someday!

Family Getaway

We rented from Dianna and Mark, looking for not your average family vacation. We got just that! Upon arrival, the cabin was very clean and welcoming. The second night, the hot tub needed to be restarted, and Dianna was quick to respond to fix the issue. We didn’t spend much time at the cabin, due to wanting to sight-see a lot, but every time we arrived back at the cabin, it was like we were home! Dianna and Mark, thank you! If you’ve never vacationed with your adult children, this is your sign, DO IT! You will not regret it! Thanks again.

Great stay! Definitely recommend!

Stayed for a week with 6 people ranging from 10 years old to 78 years old plus two dogs. Was a comfy fit but we had plenty of room. Description is 100% accurate. Facilities were more than adequate. Hot tub and fire ring were awesome. Great wifi. The small propane fireplace in the living room heated the entire cabin. The kids loved the loft. Great location. So many options for outdoor adventures within an hour radius. 15 minute drive into Mountain City for all other needs. The road in was steep and bumpy but travelled in via minivan in both rain and slight ice with no problems. Great value for all you get. Would definitely stay here again 100%.

The property was “almost” what I expected. The website stated coffee, creamer and sugar so we did not pack any. Woke up our first morning to coffee, NO creamer and about 2 Tbsp of sugar. The towels were worn to the point of see through, it was like drying off from a shower with a paper towel. We loved the serenity and scenery at the cabin but the bad out weighed the good.

Summer vacation 24

Absolutely loved this cozy little cabin. It was perfect for us and our fur babies. We never ran out of hot water. We loved hanging out on the deck Wi-Fi speeds were fine very convenient having a washer and dryer… My only suggestion to the owners would be to clean out the closets and cabinets There was a lot of miscellaneous stuff that took up space that could have been used for our clothes and food storage. And maybe 2 inch gel cushions for the beds .. we stayed for 15 nights, which I don’t think that they are used to having anyone stay that long. It definitely felt cozy! The cabin was 10 minutes away from Damascus, Virginia the Appalachian Trail as well as many other hiking and biking trails. It was 20 minutes away from skydive Mountain city 15 minutes away from Mountain recreation area for side-by-side rentals and about 40 minutes away from Whitewater rafting on the Nolichucky river!! Thank you, Diane and Mark for making our vacation perfect💕

Had Issues

Upon arrival, we were locked out. The key code from our email did not work. Called the owner and he gave us another incorrect key code for the door. We sat on the porch for 90 minutes with 2 dogs before someone arrived to let us in. We later found the correct key code on the fridge door. Then we discovered the tv and internet didn't work. Called the owner. He said a storm had knocked out the internet the day before we arrived. It would be fixed in "a day or two." We stayed 6 nights and it wasn't fixed. Not having tv for 6 days sucked, but having no internet for guidance in an unfamiliar area was a big inconvenience. I picked this cabin because it was to have internet. I didn't sign up to be off the grid for a week. The cabin itself was great. Great hot tub, nice wrap around porch, and well equipped kitchen.

We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quite the cottage had to offer. The porches surround three sides of the building nestled in the woods/mountains of TN. The personal touches and amenities offered by Diana and Mark made us feel at home and afforded us the rest and relaxation we desired.
