"I highly recommend that everyone should look beyond the big expensive city of Basel and look into Germany for accommodations. Although this hotel had slightly outdated décor, one can see that this hotel, and it's staff, have a lot of pride in their work place, and they offer great service. My room was spotless, had all the necessities except for air conditioning but thankfully, it was a cool enough night that it wasn't necessary. The hotel offered a plentiful and fresh breakfast buffet that was fit for a king. Everything was wonderful at the Carathotel. I really commend the staff that was very welcoming."

"No Air conditioning it would be very uncomfortable if temps outside exceeded 85 degrees. However the breakfast bar was superb there is a walkway bridge to this quaint town in France a shopping mall a park on the Rhine the tram into Basel all within walking steps from the hotel."
